More options, better hardware, OBDII compatibility(able to plug in an obdII reader and pull codes), multiple stages of the product, a basic version that will be cheaper than the current 2.6, 2.6 equivalent will be the midgrade product, and an uber product with lots of secrets and surprises :) Just know it's gonna be AWESOME! and blow AEM and everyone else outa the water!

I've got some more new and exciting news!

I'm working with a programmer to be able to integrate the hydra nemesis with the pioneer avic decks! Now not only will you have GPS, DVD, Bluetooth, and the usual's on an avic! We are working on getting the info from the hydra to show up on the avic in digital gauge form, no need for a million different gauges to show you all the stats on your vehicle.

Some of the gauges will include, boost, AFR, Oil temp, Oil Pressure, and more! You will also have the ability to set a street boost setting as well as a track boost setting that you can switch between with the touch of a button on your avic head unit! This will be integrated with the standard AVIC GUI (graphical user interface) so it will look like its supposed to be there! you can touch a button and pull up all your digital gauges and even switch between boost maps and more!

This is really exciting and I can't wait to show the finished product running in my SVX! I will post a link to some of the videos of the software we will be modifying to work with the hydra! Keep in mind the software is in its development stages so the look and feel of gauges etc. are pretty raw, once it is finished however it will look very clean and look like it is OEM.

Here is a link to the videos he's done with his HUD software using their tuning unit called standback, I've spoken with him about doing a similar setup for the hydra and I will be doing a clean design for the digital gauges, and it will be completely integrated with the AVIC GUI

here is my idea of an interface for the gauges

for some reason it's not showing the image so I've attached it to the post

Re: Hydra EMS

Any possibility that you could get this to work with an Alpine IVA-W505?

Re: Hydra EMS

Hydra is being stubborn about releasing the data transfer proticol that they use with 2.6 They are changing it for 2.7 which should be releasing in the next few weeks he said hed give me those proticols. So unless we can figure out the proticol it wont be untill 2.7

But the programmer will need to figure out how mod that particular deck. hes already figured out the avics but i dont know if hed take on another brand.

Any odds you can hook me up with that wiring diagram?

Re: Hydra EMS

I am assuming upgrade from 2.6 -> 2.7 is just a matter of flashing the unit? Or are we talking completely new hardware?

Re: Hydra EMS

New better hardware and 5 different stages stage 5 will have an addon box with 6-8 new inputs and can/bus functionality. 2.6 will be most similar to 2.7 stage 3 stage one will have less features than 2.6 however will be more affordable most likely around the 1200 range. Stage 5 will however not launch untill nov or dec.

The wiring diagram is also priveleged i guess im going to keep working on him. We are developing a few new applications with hydra so hopefully after some money is exchanged his lips might loosen.

However with 2.7 around the corner there is very little time left to take advantage of the 100 bucks off the 2.6 units. Once 2.7 is out you will eligable for a free upgrade to stage 3 2.7 and discounted upgrade to stage 4 or 5

I haven't had the chance to do much research on this but what benefits does this have for a 5 speed swapped car (considering I have one)? Thanks.

Re: Hydra EMS

it has loads of benefits for any car really. but the biggest thing I noticed with hydra and base maps with my 5spd is the smooth revs better matched the power transfer of the transaxle. The big change you felt when you switched to 5mt was prob pretty shocking and raw, well the hydra will take that power and manage it like it's never been managed before. It will feel cleaner through every rev. Each gear will feel cleaner than it's ever felt.

but the biggest question people are probably wondering is "Why should I get a Hydra?" or "What are the benefits to a hydra as opposed to a piggy back system like the ECUTune software?"

Here are your answers:

If you haven't heard about Hydra Nemesis, it's basically an access port on crack. It's a complete stand alone ECU. That's right it REPLACES the stock ECU from Subaru, and no you don't have to do any sort of wiring to get it to work just plug and play! Also it eliminates the need for a MAF, with the internal MAP sensor you are able to more accurately tune your car with no restrictions on power.

The amount of options with a Hydra are endless, it has additional maps like fuel trim vs coolant temp, or spark trim vs air temp. It can work with either high or low impedance injectors. you can change spark dwell time. You have control over the PID values for idle, as well as PI values for VVT control. no piggyback has VVT control yet. All fuel maps are adjustable at every RPM. You can customize for any type of fuel, and the list goes on and on. And unlike a piggy back system or most stock ECU's that you can tune such as in the WRX there are no limitations as to how many times you can alter your maps and you don't have to wait for a complete reflash to see the results of your changes.

On top of all that MSD and other ignition systems are not needed because the Hydra can tune more accurately all of those systems. The Hydra Nemesis has complete dwell control by voltage and rpm. When the dwell is set properly, the factory coils can handle most HP needs. Almost all your maps are available in both 2d and 3d which the stock ECU's are not capable of doing.

Anyone have any more questions feel free to post them, and Tom if you have anything more to add wouldn't mind some back up ;)
