You know you're an SVX owner when...

Saw this thread on another car forum and thought it would be funny over here - if its been done - just ignore it...

You know your an SVX owner when...
...you smash your head on your extrordinarily curved window pane once a week.
...every part you replace costs approxomatly 1/4 what the car cost you.
...you replace your transmission more often than the tires.

Your turn.

seems anti-svx to me
Ive owned approx 18 cars since I was able to drive..and none of them stood out as a great car to own...they all have their problems..all of em
my previous car before the SVX was a 94 Ford Probe (a Mazda MX-6 in disguise) heres my Probe thread..I know..I know..I have changed the subject but, I love my SVX and I want to share my precious Probe memories

you know you are a Probe owner when:
after replacing one of your front axles the other goes because it got lonely and didnt like your new one
you bang your head on the window due to the mechanism no longer working
the anti theft system goes off at any given moment just cause it got cold outside
the pop up headlights wink at your neighbors under age daughter...incessantly
the rear hatch attempts to off your head even tho the struts are new
Ford parts claim your vehicle doesnt exist and mustangs wont let you park with them at events
Mazda parts will sell you what you need as long as it isnt for a Ford
the rear calipers like to pee on the driveway making that dang dashlight come on while driving on hills
the emergency brake is exactly that..pull it and park and soon you have an emergency as your Probe makes a break for it
hope you enjoyed

.....or 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, or 8th SVX

-I love smashing my head every day with the curved windows, it wakes me up in the morning and reminds me what a super beast I a riding!!
-I only incur the parts costs for fixing the car, labor is cheap
-I installed a big cooler when the car had 35000 miles, change the tranny oil every 10000 miles....

EVRYTHING IS OK NOW, and the SVX is better than ever !!!

That's funny - I've replaced my tires once and I'm just replacing my transmission for the 2nd time (2nd time under my watch that is). In total I think my car has had 4 (maybe only 3) sets of tires and will soon have her 4th tranny.

.....you sit around and mope every day you cant drive your car while its being repaired (@*#^% tranny) :(

.....you have tons of photos of your car (car at home, car at the beach, car near the mountains, car in the parking lot, car in a field, car at a stop sign, car's first waxing, car's first oil change, car in the snow, car in the sun, car in the rain, car under the clouds ....basically the car from every possible angle...)

..... a sighting makes your day (Yay i saw another SVX! Wonder if I can chase it down?)

.....your car has more friends than you do

.....other people will refer to your car by its name (ok so this only applies to a few of us :p )

Didnt someone have a list like this somewhere? I remember it included the "demonstrating the H-6 layout with your hands" or something to that effect.

SilverSpear 01-05-2005 02:23 AM

Hehehehe, I will demonstrate the H-6 in my future top secret mod... COUNT ON IT !!!

You can't wait for the next SVX Meet.

You plot and figure how to get enough money to justify owning a second (or third... or in Earl's case a sixth) SVX.

You can be seen in your driveway using a hairdryer on your taillights.

You have Japanese engineers autograph your (use only one) coffee mug, tee shirt, hat, arm, intake manifold cover.

You can't wait to tell disbelieving people, "It's a Subaru !!"

Now thats a good one!! :p

Knightwulf 01-05-2005 06:22 AM

You fly halfway across the country to buy one and drive it home...

You actually do in-depth research as to the whereto's and whyfor's of the name "Alycone".

You know how to pronounce "Alycone".

You wake up in a cold sweat after having a nightmare about your tranny failing.

...and run outside in your sleepwear to make sure it wasn't real...

SilverSpear 01-05-2005 06:34 AM

Damn! at that rate I will have to create an SVX poem !:D

What is with people claiming to hit their heads on the glass? I'm pretty tall, and that's never happened to me that I can remember. And I've been on these forums for a pretty long time and I can't recall this ever being a problem before.

Agreed... I'm 6'2" (1.88m) and I've yet to hit my head anywhere in the SVX...
