Aviation-Themed SVX Meet
 

Okay, since Midwest 2 fell apart, I have another idea. I've been playing with this one for a couple of days and I intend to manage to this one for definite!! I want this to happen, and I want it to be a good one.

Okay, first of all the dates (subject to change depending on people's schedules)

October 3rd - 5th 2003 (hey, a fall meet!)

Why there? Well, I spoke to the admin at the museum, and he says for a party we might be able to get some photo opps of SVX's with classic aircraft (military and civilian)... the day at the museum will be Saturday the 4th, Friday will be "get together and meet" stuff... Sunday will probably be "go our seperate ways" day. There's not a huge amount to do in Rantoul, I'll be honest but the museum should be fun. There's also some nice back roads where we can get some good driving in... a major highway (I-57), and at that time of year there should be some really nice foliage.

I've also checked the local hotels and found some places willing to work on group rates if we have enough people... and none of them are really booked that weekend.

Votes on this idea? Anyone like it/hate it/want to do it elsewhere??

Please post feedback... I want to know how seriously I need to pursue this idea.

... As a followup... I'm also thinking that if anyone wants to bring a grill along we can have a cookout in the parking lot... or on the airfield... depends what we can figure out.

Man I LOVE air museums too, but that is too far on a school weekend. You midwest folks outa jump on this one!
