Would a OBDI scanner be helpful now that I just bought a '92 SVX?

there is no generic scanner for the OBDI diagnostics in the SVX.

You can...

-go to www.svx-iw.com
-Click SVXIpedia
-click How to check error codes
-Find what system you need to check and follow the proceedures

OR

Try to find a Subaru Select Monitor with an SVX cartridge, which tend to be very pricey.
