dual exhaust

does anyone have a pic of a svx with TRUE dual exhaust and a sound link to show what it sounds like?also a price range.

Flowmasters run about 140 each, Tips run 10-100 depending on who and where, Pipe will run you 20 max, and a good friend to bend that pipe free, Cats should you need them 90-200 each

I've had three different "true dual exhaust systems" with two and four mufflers, and my preferance is a two into one with no more than a 2.5" tailpipe system.

Best practice is to join the dual exhaust with an x-pipe or else you will lose power plus it will sound like 2 3cyl engines instead of a single 6cyl engine.

Yoda3000 02-14-2005 06:54 PM

lol, three cylinder engines

I've heard that the stock SVX exhaust system is good for up to 350 horses

Are you just looking to change the sound? I am curious what can be done to the stock system to change the sound a bit. It does have excessive cats.

Loss of power! I guess i haven't felt that yet :D True Dual system helped me to run a 15.5 in the quarter (Automatic transmission)

At a drag strip or on a g-tech?

If at a drag strip, what was your 60' time and trap speed?

Sure the SVX exhaust will work with a 350 HP motor, but it will not give peak performance. Even with a basically stock SVX motor, my custom exhaust gave an excellent boost in throttle response and all-around HP.

It was at the dragstrip. I ran a 15.57 @ 88.?? mph. I'll keep lookin for the slip becuase i cant remember my 60'. I'll be heading back this year to see what i run with the stage 1 chip and a few other mods.

Great job Craig!

You should submit your times to: www.scoobymile.com and www.dragtimes.com. It'll be nice to have another SVX on there.

What year and model SVX do you own? Didn't see it in your profile...

I have a 95 LS. I also had a cone filter from motorsport warehouse when i made that run. I dont know if that helped any, it was around 70 degrees out.

A '95 LS model - does your L model have awd or not? '94/'95 were the only years Subaru offered fwd SVX L models...

As you may know, my best last season 15.327 @ 89.5 was done in 58* temps. Had a K&N air filter and my 4.11 gears only at that time. '05 should be much better.

Welcome to the SVX drag racing family! :)

Good luck Sunday. Take pics if you can. Always cool to see pics of an SVX at the track! :)
