Matra Murena pics
If anybody is interested, I have just posted a couple of photos of my Murena 2.2 at a show in Dublin into my Personal Locker.
The scanner did not do a great job, but you can see the idea. Must get one of those digital camera thingys. Joe:) PS, the other folder has pics of my SVX. |
Oh me...
Joe,
Clicked on your pics with great anticipation...only to get: ÿØÿৗÉ4€¶NålãëïY{ZvVL¥RHý?ðïŠ4 etc. etc. :( Don P.S. The SVX pictures can be viewed with no problem. |
...And I was expecting some hot shots of an Italian starlet.
Jeez! Ron. |

I don't know what the problem could be. I have two freebie download packages on my machine, Irfanview and Thumbs +. Both of these seem to open anything remotely resembling a photo. Chris, have you any idea what I might do along the lines of "Save as" to make the pictures generally viewable? And Ron, I don't even have a photo of the Italian {she's French!!}starlet's rump for you, sorry bud. Joe:D |
The homeland!!!! The green fields of Erin are calling me home!:D
The pictures worked with no problem for me....luck of the Irish!:p I like the Matra...any chance of some interior shots of the three-abreast seating? I also note the floormats on the SVX....were they still with the car when it arrived? They are out of stock according to the JDM catalogue....although some of the lace-type seat covers that they have would be nice!;) Jamsvx |
Sweet!
I actually just talked to a guy a few days ago that works for Sun Microsystems (field tech). He has 3 of them! I had never even heard of one before that. For a good majority of the conversation I thought he was talking about a Opel Manta (which I have seen a few times).
Aw to be in Europe where they make the cool cars.... I guess I'll go and work on the Merkur some more.....might make me feel better. Are they still making XR4's there anymore? How about he Cosworths? Oh I can dream..... Ryan |
NICE
The pictures worked fine for me. Nice car. Another cool vehicle we can't get over here.

I think it has a sorta-but-not-really resemblance to the mistu Conquest TSI

"Have you ANY idea what speed you were doing there, sir??" "No, Orificer, can I take a guess at it?" Floormats came with it and I use them because they are dense quality items and a good fit. The colour would be much better matched to a Teal car though. My friend Andy who is going to repair the door lock, looked at it last week, and said, "Did it come with the knacker carpets?" They don't impress everybody, even if they have SVX embossed in gold on them. You can not be serious about the lace seat covers. Turn it into a right grannymobile. Joe:D |

I have two of them myself, and working on a third. If your Sun guy is in the UK, I probably know him, I am in the Club a long time. Mail his name if so. XR4's are a long time gone, and were a bit hot saloonish for my taste. But real capable. Cosworths still around, and in demand, nowadays generally loved and conserved. While on sale, they were hammered to within an inch. Not safe to buy secondhand without knowing a lot about the previous owner. Nowadays, the Scooby WRX fills that slot. A Cosworth was able to keep up with me on back roads going to Belfast last week. He was chuffed I'm sure, but I consoled myself with the fact that I have only one gear, while he had five. Joe:cool: |
Good deal. I always thought for some reason that the XR's we still being made there....how about the scorpios?
The guy from Sun lives here in Denver. His name is Doc (David) Cherwink. (He goes by Doc though). He's well into collecting different cars, couple Studebakers and such. He is actually on his was to Montreal to buy a older Lambourgini. Beats me how the heck a field tech could afford all this....maybe I should have taken that job they offered me a few months back. :D Ryan |

Your sense of period styling eclipses your sense of taste. This is a 1981 motor car. No offense taken, if I was easily offended, would I be corresponding on this Forum? BTW, the 200SX and Supra were hairy chest medallion man cars. The Murena is two thirds as big, about the size of a Mazda Miata. The seat is about 4" off the ground, so you sell it if you get arthritis. Joe:) |

Whatever browser you are using is guessing [because no extension] the file is Word or something else, hence the gobbledegook. The browser I use, Explorer, recognises the format as jpeg and opens accordingly. Does B. Gates get the odd thing right? Chris, or any Admin, how come they save without the extension? Joe:( |
Still trying
< three-abreast seating? >
I think this genetic engineering thing is getting a bit out of HAND! ...anyway, I'll keep trying on the pics. After all the feedback you've gotten, I can't wait to see them! Don |
