rear rotors? Drums?
Allright its the first time ever doing a brake job on a rear disc set-up. Theres a drum as well! Good grief. I thought I was getting everything replaced and now Im still hearing squeeking with the old shoes almost down to the metal. You dont hear this mentioned much, are the shoes readily sold? where?

You can try here .
Have you tried asking at local auto parts stores? I'm sure Napa/autozone/carquest/pepboys woudl have a suitable replacement. Make sure you get the lip machined! |
That drum is just for the parking brake, so the shoes should practically never wear out. If your brakes are just squealing when they're applied, then I'd look elsewhere for the noise.

The only place I have seen the parking brake shoes is from Subaru. I have checked at Checker, NAPA, CarQuest and none of them have part numbers for them.
I also think that the shoes should never wear out, check the disc setup for the noise. Doug |
