What a great group of people.

I wanted to express my thanks to everyone in our little 'community' here on the network. You ALL have been so helpful, and kind and caring.

I am just as much a member of the chevy cavalier scene (have a cav that i show) and everyone on the message boards and such doesnt usually offer help when someone is in distress. It is a lot of 'My car is better than yours' and stuff like that.

Because of this i am PROUD to say i am an svx owner and that I belong to this FINE group of people.

Thank you to ALL!

Aredubjay 11-01-2001 10:47 PM

Mike, I echo your sentiments. I never cease to be amazed by the willingess of people to help in a world that's usually "every man for himself." Many thanks to all.

Mike, Randy,

You two are gonna make me cry. It is a pleasure to be a part of this network and to know all of you both on and off line.

Without trying to offend anyone, I think that the difference in experience between this site and the cavalier site is probably due to age. A lot of your Cavalier tuners are high school kids with something to prove. Most of us are married and just enjoy the car.

Yes, there are always exceptions.

I'm glad you enjoy the group - so do I. After two years of posting and chatting and meeting members, I'm not sick of it yet.

Hell, maybe I'll be at AutoFest in 2030 so I can see the SVX and its owners get some respect at a 'classics' show. :)

I agree with you 100% mr P. I know its due to age. Being a member of this group has just made me realize how really bad it is over there with the cav people. I very very rarely ever post on the forums anymore because usually your posts are replied to with 'your car is slow' and 'why dont we race' and things like that. There are very few people over there that have any maturity. There are some though, and we usually stick together at the meets and what not.

Overall, being with you guys both online here and at meets is much more enjoyable. At meets with the cav guys its everyone bragging about how great their car is, and how its better than yours. With you svxers, I noticed that the meets are for the love of the cars, sharing information, and just seeing friends. It makes the experience wonderful!

Thanks again

-Mike

Thanks again for reiterating, Mike. I think Nick's been a but "grumpy" of late. He probably just needs a hug or something. Sheesh.

There, I hope that makes it all better. :D

ACK! Hug ambush!

Grumpy? Huh?

1994SubaruSVX 11-02-2001 09:46 AM

this is a fun place to hang out.

we dont get into pissing matches about our cars because we all love our cars for different reasons. some like the SVX bare bones stock and some like to mod it to the extreme. the awesome thing is the car really looks great both ways.

with a car like the cavalier it is all about what you have done to the car because in stock form it is a plain jane. (no offense i hope green).

this car and its owners recognize that we have a one of kind. there will never be a car made again that has the windows, comfort, the sportiness, and the overall style the SVX has. it is an instant classic and we all know it, respect it, and cherish it.

So, Leo, I take it you've gotten over your frustration and have given up on the idea of selling the car? :D

GROUP HUG FOR LEO!!!!!

Green, ( I like to use first names)

Another reason for SVXers to band together is the "Us against them" attitud that we have. As a group we tend to be very defensive. Not only do we see other fast car owners as out to humble us, we also feel the Subaru and its deales are almost always out to give us the shaft.

We are very paranoid.

Well, so much for the PSYCHO analysis from someone who is
certified (or is that certifiable).

The real question I have is why did R-Dub call Mr. Pocket Cube a but, grumpy or otherwise (Reread the post) .

Just some food for thought. (Oh, oh; I better not mention food, Miss Hollow Legs 1968 is liable to read this) :p

Larry III:cool:
If you think that the SVXers here are in a state of shock at the way the Yanks won the last two games; You ought to see the guys from Seattle on the Yahoo site. I wonder what Richeich from Arizona thinks?

Green1995SVX 11-02-2001 10:56 AM

You're right about the cav being plain. Everyone modifys always it seems. I have a very old cav (the first year they made the z24) and mine is 100% stock. I just think thats classier because of the vintage of the car. But i do agree, they are a plain car. :D

-Mike
PS - Theres a pic of my cav in my locker.

EveryShadeofBlue 11-02-2001 11:04 AM

Mike's Cavalier is so pristine and looks so good for it's age that I... dare I say it... call it a classic! There must be hardly any out there in this good of a shape. By now, that saavy Detroit engineering should be in a vending machine ready for you to plunk down your 60cents (i.e. recycled can). I admit I have no interest in classic American cars whatsoever. I'd rather ogle over a pristine 1987 300ZX than a classic '64 Mustang.

I'm not into american cars that much myself. I just have this love affair with a vintage cav ;)
