Tranny filters - how many - 2 or 3
 

How many tranny filters are there?

I'm sure of 2

1. the screen in the radiator
2. the add-on filter below the battery

Is there a third replacable filter in the tranny?

I'm having my fluid changed and remember reading about this filter somewhere (where it also said to have the pan dropped, cleaned and the magnet de-gunked).

Am I just imagining things?

Nope, you are right. There is a screen in the transmission also. It's a bit of a bear to remove, especially with tranny fluid dripping on you. It doesn't have to be replaced, just cleaned.

Was the "mesh" in the radiator really supposed to act as a filter? I thought it was there to aid in cooling.
