Looking for a TPS

does anyone have a tps laying around that they are willing to sell. I don't have 200$ laying around for a new one, but this is the first step in troubleshooting my problems.

Testing the TPS that you have now with a digital volt meter, is the first step.;)

The car acts funky when not set .50Vdc +/-.05
I agree with Tom and do a search for a how to on TPS...I actually posted a thread, but had my multimeter set wrong.

So I took the tps to auto zone and had it tested and the guy said that it has no variance at all and deemed it to be bad. It stated at 5.86 throughout the whole movement. Does this sound correct to anyone and does this point to needing a new tps?

Yes, you should get a TPS. Look in the for sale/part out section of the forum and PM the people parting out cars. (People selling stuff tend to rely on getting PMs and emails from people rather than checking the parts wanted section.)

I will look and see if I have an extra one when I get home from work later.

Thanks a ton, I will do that. I saw one on ebay for sale for 50$ too, I just don't have the extra cash at the moment to get a new one.

I have an extra one but it came off a unknown parts car and I have no idea if it works or not.

Ok guys, I got a tps from another member and went and bought a multimeter, I tried putting the red lead in white wire clip and test the tps but there's no room to do it, so how do.I test thing thing to.set it right?

I know I use dc volts and I think.I ground the black wire. No alligator.clips on my meter just prongs. Any help appreciated as im realllly dumb with electronics

Re: Looking for a TPS

Take a needle and puncture through the white wire....attach the positive red wire "alligator clip" to the needle carefully.. then hook up your black negative wire to the negative battery terminal...a set of alligator clips work great for this.

That looks a little clearer, gotta get alligator clips and a sewing needle it appears. I got the tps today and set it using the whiteout marks, its driving like a whole new machine now, only a slight hop when braking and turning, but I still have to fine tune the voltage. Hopefully this symptom will subside after a final adjustment.
