First track run
Took the basically stock SVX to the 1/4 mile track around here.
Did 4 runs. 1-3 in rapid succession, then the 4th after nightfall. After the 3rd straight run, my brakes wouldn't hold me in place from the brake fade, so I called it quits for a bit. The 4th run, the tranny wouldn't grab... 4th? Maybe 3rd, whatever gear you hit right before the trap. Only mods to the powertrain is a Stebro. With it being my 4 first drag runs ever, I feel my R/T and 60' weren't too bad. Car just has nothing up top. I really want to get it into the 15's. http://serial.cc/simplepic/albums/us..._timeslips.JPG There were some wild cars there. I went with all the "local" subarus, so I was racing STi's all day. Needless to say, I didn't hold up well next to my buddies 11.9 second STi... ;) My favorite though was a bone stock Escape. He had zero mods, and was running 17-19's all day. It was hilarious to watch. I'll be honest, I didn't find the driving too much fun. The launch takes a little skill, but it still felt like a cakewalk. I don't think I'll run till I have a manual swap, hopefully then I'll enjoy it more. |

Re: First track run
I will add some slips to this thread after we get back tonight... Did some driveline stiffening and hope for some better slips than what I have had before...

Re: First track run
Meh, nothing to get hot and bothered about
Mike ran his stocker consistantly through all 7 runs 16.6 @ 84mph My silver also ran very consistant with only differences being 60' times which reflected my ET 14.90@92mph... More or less baselines for Mike and myself... More to come as my projects roll along Tom |
Re: First track run
Do you still have the S/C in your silver, Tom? I thought I read somewhere that you were removing it in favour of turbos. I haven't been keeping up here as much as I'd like, so I'm out of the loop.

Re: First track run
Mikes runs were with a tired, bone sstock car in full street trim (Things in the trunk and everything) Toms runs were done with a stock motor, 6 speed w/ working dccd controller, and tomyx intake.
I had a short lived night...only got one run because I topped off the coolant before runing and splashed some onto the farme rails...ended up on the track when I launched, so they flagged me :o I ran a 15.9 with a bone stock motor, junk in the trunk and a 4.11 trans, though im sure if I had a few extra runs I could have shaved a few tenths off |
Re: First track run
I thought Tom's numbers sounded a little slow for an S/C. About what I'd expect for a 6mt and stock-ish motor.

Re: First track run
Ridered your 60' suuuuucks. Mine was 2.4 (15.6, June 2005, stg 1v3, that's it) with my front wheels spinning and rear wheels doing nothing. Your trap is also a bit slow. Not trying to rub it in, but what I think it means is your car is not producing stock power or has gained a bit of weight.
Also you need some better brake pads. |

The way I read the first 3 slips is that the car IS running in the 15s and it's just YOU that is slow. Subtract your very slow trap times and see what the CAR is doing. :p Lee |
