odepaj 11-02-2007 12:11 AM

cozykat 11-08-2007 09:33 AM

Well I'm always up for a meet and we have now in San Antonio... lets see:
1-3. Dustin (odepaj) - 3 svxes: 92 pearl ,92 ebony, and 95 brillant red
4. Skip (dengue) - 94 laguna blue,
5. Scott (SA SVX) - 95 laguna blue
6. ? - emerald or polo green SVX near Scott (which he needs to go and make contact with!)
7. Don - 94 fwd ebony
8. Jose - 92 ebony
9. Danny - 92 ebony
10. Marian - 94 barcelona red
11. Keri (tsproing) - 92 silver
12. Alan - 92 ebony (still yellow, I think)
13. myself - 93 barcelona red
14. Shaun (YourConfused) with his 92 ebony in Austin (he's close enough to lump him with us. :))

I know there are few others (brillant red, emerald green - with tons of bumper stickers on it, and laguna blue) but I haven't been able to meet their owners yet. Hey, we try to chase them down but it lately it seems I only see them in heavy traffic so I never have a chance. Oh and there is the Subaru SVX mechanic in Austin with 3 svxes (but have yet to meet him).

With as many as we have already, you'd think we'd be more organized with meeting.

There is also stevesby in brownsville and a few more in houston and of course Dallas.

Fixed you list haha! You had scott and skip backwards. There is also a guy with a '93 Anniversary off Potranco, I talked to him alittle and he's in love with his SVX but it doesnt run right now.

Also: There is a mechanic at the Belden's Auto on the North side of town (San Pedro) who used to work for Subaru and I think specialized in SVXs!

seehecksdeeh 11-14-2007 02:04 PM

Anyone here from Dallas? I've seen a few SVXs in recent years and wonder if any of their drivers possibly go to this site.

There is at least Ray (Network ID: Halistan) in Dallas and if I remember he lives almost next door to another SVX owner (who also happens to import japanese engines).
You should send him a PM as I know he loves meeting SVX owners but he doesn't always have a lot of time to surf the Network.

cozykat 04-07-2008 04:15 PM

bump
so that maybe some Texas members can get together sometime. From what I can tell everyone's cars are running now. :)

apocalixto 04-15-2008 09:07 AM

i am in the dallas area

apocalixto 05-01-2008 04:38 PM

SVX meet in June.

let's have a meet soon. i am thinking in early june. What do people think about that? give us all time to get our cars ready. Let's make this big. What does everybody say about meeting somewhere in austin? Austin is a great place and it is basically the only place anywhere near being in the middle of all of us. haha.

So lets get in gear and get this together. I want to see all of the TX SVXs out there and whoever else wants to drive out to the meet.

I have been talking to a couple of guys here about something this summer, like a BBQ.
I was shooting for te meeting in San Antonio becuase I think most of the TX people are here. We have like 9 SVXs (7 owners) in San Antonio (plus a few others that are only spottings). I don't mind driving to Austin but not sure about the rest...
How many memebers are in Dallas?

I am in Ausstin and have a grill so we could bbq and then go for a nice drive in the hills. Lots of ffun roads here to go for a cruise on. May have some other sports cars that could cruise also. I am soon to have awd again so I would like to have some fun with others of the same mind on a fun drive.

apocalixto 05-02-2008 08:30 AM

hey everybody. I think that san antonio might be fine just as long as there are some prime places to go cruisin. na mean? lol
lets start a list for people who are gonna be showing up so we can make sure to keep those people informed.

1. Apocalixto (Dallas)

apocalixto 05-16-2008 10:35 PM

guess it looks like i am the only one so far!

haha. i will cruise around san antonio by myself i guess. lol:D

1. Apocalixto (Dallas)
2. Cozykat (San Antonio)
3. Odepaj (San Antonio)

Are we keeping it to SVX owners only? I might know some wrx folks that might like to come along.

YourConfused 05-18-2008 08:47 PM

When are we talking about?

apocalixto 05-19-2008 11:11 AM

SVX Meet in June 2008!

i would like it to be dominantly an SVX meet! but who ever wants to come has the ability to come!

Let's shoot for the 2nd weekend in June. Does that work for everybody?

odepaj 06-04-2008 12:11 PM

Im deffinetly in! (as if I had a choice since Marisa already put me on the list )

If we do it here in San Antonio we could have a BBQ/tear down dustin's ebony in preporation for his build:D;)

Then everybody could see alot of my plans and it'll be a good way of learning how to do various things on your own cars.

But if thats the case we have to push it back acouple weeks. I'm still trying to figure out how much longer im gonna have my garage:(

I'm more than sure i'll have it long enough for the build, I just gotta convince higher authority to let me use it.

Dustin

odepaj 06-04-2008 12:21 PM

We may have to push this back anyways :o

I just remembered that June is gonna be full of Subaru/local SA stuff.

Marisa should know; We've got oog and jeremy leaving on the 24th (larry is having a bbq/pool party at his house for them, theres the brackenridge photo/bbq being planned. So many people building their cars. We don't wanna plan to many BBQ's all in one month.

I heard talk of TXIC planning another Hill-country drive as well, so we could all go to that and then plan a BBQ/get together for another weekend or something?

shelfy 06-04-2008 12:38 PM

i'll be spending a fair amount of time in texas this summer and fall. i doubt i'll ever have one of my SVXs with me though.

Yeah,

I know about the BBQs and decided maybe July was a better time.. Summer school has started for me so I am trying to juggle some thing right now but if we one person to grill (maybe Scott) then a BBQ at your place would be fine.. we need to get you a grill though...

The Subie BBQ at Brackenridge Park looks to be taking place this Sunday @ 11am. It's open to subies so I am hoping some SVX people will show. I'm going to send out a mass email right now. Cause I'm going to be pitching in for food, etc so I want some SVX people there.

thinking the BBQ should happen around July 19th or 26th. Any votes? I need ot get cracking on that. The Subie BBQ last weekend was AWESOME - Pics Here. Great turnout and lots of food. :)

However our SVX population is suffering.. a local owner Danny (has a black 92 SVX w/ new tranny) is planning on selling his for $2800 I believe.. :(

apocalixto, I will be calling you soon.

Re: Texas!

Hey,

Let's do it on the 19th. I will try to get the other guy in Dallas that I know to come along as well. I just won't be able to do it on the 26th...so the 19th should be perfect.

Hopefully my car will be lowered by that point too!! I have the coilovers...but not enough money to get them put on yet.

Hey everybody,

I just talked to Cozykat yesterday and she said that the 19th should be a go. Either going to be at an SVX owner's house or at the park where they had the last Subaru meet.

She will post the location soon.

Thanks!

Calixto

Dustin and myself will be going on the drive tomorrow to map it out for anyone interested.
The plan is that was meet early on Saturday and go for a scenic drive. Then we will return and have the BBQ at Brackenridge Park. I am not sure how many are up for the drive thus why the BBQ will be after the drive.

apocalixto 07-14-2008 12:28 PM

Re: Texas!

hey,

i am totally down for the drive...but remember i am driving from dallas so what time do i need to meet up with you all? and will I have time for my car to rest for like 30 minutes?

cozykat 07-15-2008 03:05 PM

Re: Texas!

Hey,
Once Dustin and myself map out the drive today, we'll let you know how long it will take and that will give us a better idea what time to schedule it. I know you are driving down from Dallas so I am thinking you need to be alotted like 5 hours for that. Are you staying in SA overnight or you doing a round-a-bout and returning to Dallas the same day?

ttys

apocalixto 07-15-2008 05:39 PM

Re: Texas!

round-a-bout. doesn't matter what time we leave san antonio...for the drive there we need to know what time we need to leave dallas. what time is the drive starting?

odepaj 07-16-2008 03:45 AM

Re: Texas!

:D:D

The drive is gonna be LOTS of fun! It's about 140 miles and gets VERY twisty in some spots. Caution is the name of the game for Saturady, we dont want anybody shaking hands with a rock wall face or tree.......

The numbers for the meet are looking pretty good so far;

For the drive we've got:
Me
Marisa
Apocalixto
Tomas (if keri ever calls him back about finally buying the SVX from her)
Shaun (possibly)

And for the BBQ: (everybody already listed)
Scott
Skip
Don (possibly)

Plus any other Subaru's that show up. I think a few WRX guys might join us and heard talk of acouple Legacys/Outbacks joining aswell.

Im gonna try and borrow a camcorder and attempt to make the "in-car camera mount" that they showed on the last PRoN episode.

Re: Texas!

http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/1...rydrivezs6.png

Hope that gives anyone a rough idea of what the drive will be like.

1604 & Highway 16/Bandera Road, left onto Park Road 37, right onto Ranch Road 1283, left onto Highway 16/Bandera Road, keep right on Highway 16/173, take Highway 16/Medina Highway to IH-10, IH-10 & 1604 (less than 5miles from where we start )

Dustin

Ps. Just to make things clear, the route is the red (with patches of yellow) line.

YourConfused 07-16-2008 06:41 AM

Re: Texas!

I am ordering new mounts, but had better not drive it much with blown mounts. I will be there for the bbq, and anything that may happen afterwards.

I am so excited about the meet. I just put on the crank pulley, the green filter, and the (sorta ricey...but hey...it actually looks cool) b-pipe from Motorsport.

I can't wait....what time are we meeting?

We are pretty much wondering when you can be here so we can schedule it. lol Cause you are looking at maybe a 5 hour drive possibly.. so lets say you leave at 7am, here by noon, then we can go for the drive at 1pm, get back around 3pm and have the bbq.
Originally I thought we could do the drive at like 11:30 to make sure we are done around 2pm and then we can have the BBQ but I don't want you to miss the drive sooo when are you arriving? lol

I think you should come friday night. lol i have 2 comfy couches...... ask Shaun.
