Thanks a lot to Mr Pocket for his optimism - good to know I am not alone !
I have to rebuild the gearbox myself with the help of my brother so I will need a manual - is such a thing available - does anyone have a copy or a photocopy with the relevant details on the gearbox????
Are parts available in the US and how expensive are they??

Hi Ron, Bad luck about the auto, I'll bring you up to date.

If you have lost 3 and 4, then the high clutch has gone, may have taken the high gearset with it. The cost of the parts would be high, and the box is not an easy one to overhaul. There are service manuals available, the transmission section is about 250 pages long.

I think your best bet, is to source a used box from Japan as they are the same as your box, the US ones are different. They usually have low mileage and if it is later than a 94 model all the updates have been done by then.
