Totaled?

In the last 3 weeks I totaled my '96. Any interest if I should buy it back for parts? Its red w/ tan int. and was hit on the back right wheel w/ a little damage on the left side from being pushed into another car.

depends on buy back price... i personally would do it, and part it out. if not only to make some money, but to support the SVX community.

Give us some pictures, and some information on how much the insurance company is giving you, and what they want for the car.

They'll give me $5557.83 thats after they took $558.00 off for mileage (143,965). I can buy it back for $900.00. I have pics but i'm not sure how to get them on here. I can send them in an email.

I too would buy it back, pating it out could be very adventageous for you and the SVX community. I'd say you could make your money back on that plus a good chunk in a fairly short amount of time, especially if the interior is good. I'm sure you have heard this, but selling the engine and trasmission out of that foor a fair price would probably cover the cost of the car for you.

I agree. I would buy it back for that price, and recover some of your loss. Let us know if you do it. I have some parts that I need as well and they need to be tan. Sorry to hear about the car. :(

I agree. I would buy it back

Do you plan on buying another SVX? If so then definately keep this one as a spare and part out what you don't need.

I'd buy it back, fix the damage or part if it's bad. I don't know the condition of the vehicle but it look as if you could profit from this.

godeacsgo 05-21-2005 11:41 AM

I added pics to my locker of the wreck.

NikFu S. 05-21-2005 12:41 PM

Ooooh Jebus. If only it weren't on both sides. Fixing that will probably cost more than what it was to fix mine.

Body wise it is sheet metal Whats up with the wheel, that would worry me more than the tin and plastic.

It is just sheet metal and trim, and maybe a busted joint among other smaller things, but I would [conservatively] estimate [professional, guaranteed] repairs being in the $8000 range.

freak customs 05-22-2005 07:29 AM

ouch! how's the transmission, engine, and front end? are there any damages to the wheels themselves? parting it out would most likely make you the $$$ back that you spent to buy it back and then some, but it may take alittle work.

i would buy it back and list the details on the parts here and ebay. be prepared to pull and ship the parts.

MpSVX 05-22-2005 01:25 PM

sorry to hear of this unfortunate event, :( I'm with the others buy it back :)

tailgatewagon 05-22-2005 03:24 PM
