Formal Apology to Tomsvx

This thread is a formal apology to Tom concerning his exhaust mod. pls see this thread before continuing reading:
http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/show...879#post282879

It seems i had unintentionally offended Tom and for that i am very sorry i didn't mean it. I consider the mod he did as very impressive and the best ever done on a car, even better than factory exhaust manufactured. i am really amazed with this work, professionally done, but through my reply i was encouraging people to do the same nice mod you did Tom, i didn't mean to mock it, people look at this nice job and say:" Man that costs a lot to do due to high labor, or it seems impossible for me to do it by myself!!" i was just encouraging people who don't have the funds to pay labor, to do this nice job by themselves.
I look at things and see stuff i can modify. i don't like to thow anything either Broken TV or stereo, or... maybe some of its parts i can take out to do mods on another things...
WILL is all what people need to accomplish the things they think it was impossible in the past, what Tom did can be accomplished but not as professionally as he did it, maybe we can get it at 65% of what he did....

TOM I AM VERY SORRY FOR WHAT I STATED BUT I SWEAR I DIDN'T INTENTIONALLY MEANT TO HURT YOU...

pavanbabut 02-08-2005 02:21 AM

Yep!.... i too agree he doesn't mean to degrade the excellent work done by Tom. Its all due to misundestanding of his english and lack of communication between his english (British) and US english and the way he is delivering. I am also having the same problems when I was new to USA, but now I am little bit comfortable with US english. Just give him sometime to adjust to this english.

Thanks,
Pavan.

Uhhh....

You have the wrong Tom. Tomsvx and I had issue with what you said. Svxfiles (who's name happens to be Tom) is the person who did the exhaust work on my car.

Danny, no formal apology nessecary. I was having a bit of a skidish day and that just pushed me over a little. I am the first one to try and fab an exhaust or swap an engine or rebuild one for that matter. I do not believe in having some jackass work on my car. I just mean to say that bending an exhaust to fit and work correctly in a car is a fine art. Tom(Svxfiles) has a shop with the proper machinery to do this job where as most of us do not. Without the proper machinery, it is near impossible to bend your own exhaust. I also felt that you degraded someone else's work by saying that anyone could do that job. It is very hard indeed to make that system unless the person has that certain skill. Example would be the skill of molding fiberglass, not everyone can make their own bodykits like you did, thats why other people produce them for the public. I did not intentionally tear you apart because I was belittled, it just seemed that you are the first person to deny credit where credit is due. I thank you for your consideration in writing this apology but it was in no sense nessecary. Try to use positive reinforcment when talking about other's work. Don't just tell people, Oh anyone can do that because in most cases it is not true.

Tom (embarassed that it came to this)

hey Chike, I didn't know we share the same B-day. I was looking at the netwrok calendar and saw that we both are born on Jan 6th different year of course. Just thought it was funny.

Hey heres an idea....how about you use the PM function instead of making this everyone elses business! :)

SilverSpear 02-08-2005 03:49 PM

Guys you are not undertanding my idea, 3 years ago i didn't know sh!t about working in cars either mechanics, bodykits, mods, anything.... then through curiosity i managed to fill some gaps i found not applicable before... i knew nothing about fiberglass and i have never seen it in my life, then a friend of mine was doing his Mercedes at a local fiberglass shop, i was attracted to it... so i went to a vendor, bought resine, hardener and fiberglass and started making a mold for my car.
I began with a front fender ( i had one a little bit damaged that i had in the garage), so i took a mold out of it and did another fiberglass fender which i didn't put on my car... you will ask me why? the thing is i didn't find the SVX fender as so heavy requiring a fiberglass fender, so i did the next best thing which is the bodykit you are seeing right now...
out of nothing i managed to do this....it was curiosity all the way.
so my message is if anyone has say 1% curosity about a certain thing in life, let him go though it, try to fill this gap and never say impossible!
I am inducing people to make by themselves what they like, i look at my car with a big :D knowing that I DID THAT by myself, and i consider myslf an amateur in doing things but i proudly admit that my work is flawless and certified by 3 of the best fiberglass shops over here. Pls i am not bragging about it, just i am sharing my enjoyment with something i did by myself and believe me it is far better than letting others do it for you... ask Longassname about his 3 tuning stages, Huck about his first time 5mt, and Tom for his exhaust mod... not all people are skilled as the latter, but trying safely can never hurt!

and soobie, when i offend someone on the main, i have to apologize on the main this is how i face my problems...

Pls my thought are sincer

Thank you for trying to get this problem solved. Some would not give a hoot and just let it become water under the bridge. Sometimes that works, but sometimes it makes it worse. Thanks for your effort. :) :) :)

<Now that the Troll has been fed, it will crawl back under the bridge where it belongs.>

I have to agree with ensteele here even though I was not involved at all I didnt even read the thread I think it was best how you went about apologising.

TomsSVX 02-09-2005 08:35 AM

yes, it was a very nice thing to do but it was not nesseccary(spelling? ) in any regaurd. I feel that someone's hard work which requires a great amount of skill was going underappreciated and almost insulted. With regaurd to that I felt a need to say something. I also apologize that i blew up but I feel it was all for the better. Cheers Danny keep up the good work.

Tom
