Outside looking in..for now

So this hurts to say this (a little) but I am no longer a Svx owner...for now. I traded my 92 liquid silver ls-l 6/92 prod date svc for my childhood/adolescent dream car... a Stingray Corvette. It was a deal I just couldn't pass up even swap. So I've decided that after I restore the vette and square off my 15k in debt I'm gonna be back on the market for a 5 spd zero rust svx or pursuing buying mine back if he ever decides to sell. So ill be watching what you guys are up to, but just observing for now, I'll be an owner again but always an enthusiasts.

Ill get a couple pics up of both when I get a chance, the SVX needed some work I.e.- front fenders, rear qtr rust repair, and trans was losing the hi clutch. Vette also needs to be put back together in the middle of restoration (he had two kids in process started to be ignored) I'll get some up soon though.

What year Corvette did you get?
Engine?
Transmission?
Roof?
Color?

I have been working on a 1996 Corvette lately.
It is now supercharged with a custom exhaust and stupid fast!
It does get more "looks" than ny SVXi, but honestly it is not as nice to drive.
My supercharged Claret is faster to 100, but I am sure that above that
(with traction not being an issue)
the Vette will be much faster.:o

Sorry but '76 :barf:, my least favourite of Vettes.

Re: Outside looking in..for now

I had a 1974 coupe with the 454 (270hp) and the close ratio 4 -speed. My last vette was a Torch red 1993 ZR1

I found that these cars were totally useless and frightening to drive in snowy and icy Maryland winters; I can't imagine what Maine would be like (except that the drivers might be more experienced)

I guess I have been spoiled by AWD under these conditions.

Congratulations on the ride

Ya its gonna be a garage princess when salt and sand are on the roads I have a tdi for my dd junk beater only because of my job, I drive 100mi a day for work. I wanna build it up 500+ all motor or maybe a nice set of twins cause you dont see that often everyone just supercharges or just uses nitrous on the older muscle cars.

I could. But it would depend on the year of the Vette and the interior/exterior colors.

Everyone is different.
That why Baskin Robbins makes so many flavors.:)

Of all my Corvettes, my 74 LS4 was the one I wish I could get back. It was a one-off color scheme from the factory (which meant I had to pay for the car in full BEFORE it was built) It was not on their "recommended" interior/ exterior color scheme so they did not want to be stuck with it if I backed out once the dealer received it. Not another one like it made.

It was the very dark metallic green exterior with silver leather interior and matching carpet. Completely loaded... and coming in at $7542.00 delivered!
