How To Locker

I just put in a few more files in the How-To Locker. One of them is a table of contents so you can see what is in the folders or files and what kind of files they are. If you have any suggestions, PM or Email me and I will try to get what you need. Right now I am scanning a file on how to replace the timing belt. I thought we had that one in there. We don't. I went to Ryan McDonald's site to see if that is where I had seen it, but he has a new site under construction with no completion date. I will get the one I have posted as soon as I can. :)

Suggestion: Put a character at the front of the description of the TOC entry so it always appears at the upper-left corner -- "!" would work.

Also, could you perhaps reorganize these into a heirarchy of folders? Then it would be easier to find things. Break it down into things like:

Body/chassis maint. & repairs
Engine
Transmission
Brakes
Electrical
Interior repairs/mods
Stereo, Speakers, & Antenna

for starters, and sub-folders under those as necessary.

And then could you please add a link to my SVX audio installation page? :D

Also, the "links" link at the top of everyone's locker (including the How-To locker) currently goes to http://www.subaru-svx.net/news/links.php (which has no links). It would be better if it went to http://www.subaru-svx.net/links/

I have been thinking about doing tha, but when I started there were lots of files already there. You can not just move them around. You have to deleat each one, and then re-install each folder. It would be like starting from scratch. I just have not had the time to do all of that. I wil try to do that in the future.

As far as the links page, I don't have the power to do that. Sith or Chris are the only administrators that can do that.

Thanks for the feed back. :)

I have the new Table of Contents attached. It will be in broader folders, and then subfolders to help break it down easier. Any suggestions before I begin?

(I thought I had posted this earlier, but somehow the post didn't make it)

I wonder if either Sith or Chris could move the actual files and folders around so they don't need to be deleted and reloaded?

Too Late - it is all done now. I will continue to load more files that I didn't have in there before. :D It is much easier to get around and find what you need now. Hope it helps. :)

David

In your PM, you wondered about the Table of Contents. I decided that it probably wasn't needed because it is so easy to navagate to the information that is needed. Let me know what you think. :)
