Number 718 comes home
My parents just became SVX owners by purchasing Ocdiddy02's custom painted 1992 SVX LS-L. It's build date is 5-91 and it is production number 718. The paint job is horrible with lots of runs, the speakers that were supposed to be in the car weren't, All the metal power steering lines were cut:eek:, it had a froze up wheel making it a fun ordeal to get on the trailer(believe it or not a common everyday newspaper saved the day), and it is in need of alot of repair. They are planning on fixing it up and I sent them home today with a whole bunch of parts to get started with. The whole reason they bought it was for something to show off and mod up a little and the first one planned is a 4.44 swap soon. Plus I have the parts car here with almost everything they need to fix it up.;) They are very excited about it and my step dad can't wait to get to work on it(or to learn how to from me:rolleyes:).
You'll all see pics soon I'm sure and you'll definitely see them at Reading VIII and the 15th anniversary meet. I just want to say welcome to the club Mom and Dad and I hope you love the experience as much as I do.;):) |
thats great!!!!!!!! and good luck to they on the fix up job. I know I am just happy that my folks have a legacy :D

Budfreak,
Well there is a car in Dover, Ohio. It’s a 1992 and it has been hit I guess in the rear…You may want to give this number a call for your step dad to check out. It’s closer to you then me I believe. I have called about it, not sure if the dud would take less. 330-602-771. I can only see it on the weekends and they are not open. The place is called All Quality. The guy wants $1,700 for it, he said it does drive and can be driven home just needs a clear title or something. I have two already, but have been thinking about this one too. I will give your step dad a chance because I really enjoyed your parents and I know how much he loves the car too... :D :D :D |

What 2 Akrons???????!!!!!!!
Well there are 2 Clevelands too.......Ohio and Tenn. :p |
My Akron has a police station, fire station, 1 convience store, 1 restraunt, 1 grocery store, 1 redlight, and 1900ish people I think.
There is more than just the 2 Akrons. I think there is one in CO. EDIT: there are 10 in the US Anyhoooooo back on topic: how many phone calls did you get so far? "Ummm I don't understand why the park lights won't go out?" :p |

I guess maybe they don't put the switch in the SVX that keeps the parking lights on when the key is off. Over on usmb it is called the subaru virgin switch.

UPDATE:
We got the car off the trailer and it turns out the caliper was holding the front wheel. So now all 4 wheels are turning. The front diff looks to be shot along with the tranny. We got it started and the tranny sounds like a bucket of bolts being rapidly shaken around. It needs a new ball joint and new end links in the front(which are on the way), It has a badly bent control arm in the back that obviously caused the tires to wear badly which now also need replaced, The calipers and rotors are shot, and god only knows what other surprises I find along the way. I wish people would leave owning these cars to people that want them and take care of them and not buy them for their kids to go out and destroy.:( |
I know you and your step dad will have this car done in no time. I am looking forward to seeing your step dad behind the wheel.

I am excited for your mother….now when we meet up in Ohio, I will not be the only gal behind the wheel of an SVX. :) :) :) I imagine your mom will be on the road all the time once her car is done. You’ll have to take pictures for her first drive….When is your step dad going to get one? My husband has my parts car tore down now. He has the doors off as well as the front bumper off. It would be a great mod to re-due the front end making it more aggressive looking. ;) ;)
