what is the noise suppressor mod for 92s

in the hesitation thread, several of you mention an eeprom upgrade and noise suppressor mod. What is this and how can I tell if I have had it done to my car before I owned it?

Check my locker for pics of an ECU with the EPROM and an ECU with the noise suppressor bead crushed. Check the TSB's site for a detailed explanation of how to crush the bead if you find out you have one. A search here will probably also yield much discussion about this.
