Trying to Fix Visor via the "How to Doc's", Ummm.....Help.

Well, I broke down and cut apart one of my visors, was going to try the "Saving the Drooping Subaru SVX Visor Problem (for less than two dollars" fix...
Well, as I cut it apart it appears that the visor from one of my '92 SVX's is different than the documents. Mine appears to be a foam filled visor. I didn't want to cut into the foam unless someone else already has and figured out a fix for that style... Has anyone else run into this? Below are the pics (one from the "how to" document and a pic of mine. Any help would be appriciated. Thanks. http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/files/mrcare/22418.jpg |

Ok, I'm an idiot. I was just being overly cautious. You need to cut through the thicker foam and you will find the plastic piece.
It was just that in the "document picture" it appear as if the foam was a softer foam, it looked nothing like what was inside of mine. Mine is very stiff, fragile, hard foam. It is practically crumbling as I am working with it. But as I get it back together it should look just fine and be unnoticable. |
Anyone ever just velcroed their visors up with those self stick dots?

I would imagine the weight of the visor would pull on the headliner, then you'd have real issues. I'm not sure if I'd risk it.
But good thought. |
I gave up trying and ordered new ones from SUBARU.
