The Boys of Summer

I was driving into work this morning in my SVX, listening to the first official game of the new baseball season. The Yankees are playing the Devil Rays in Tokyo Japan. It is now official; Spring must be here because Baseball is on the radio. From the tips of my toes to the top of my head; I was dressed appropriately for business in the new century. I was wearing highly polished black shoes, bone colored chinos, a light blue, button down collar, oxford shirt and my good blue blazer. Of course, I had on my NY Yankee tie. It is basically blue and depicts the Statue of Liberty with a baseball glove on her left hand catching a baseball. It has the Yankee logo on the bottom. I topped off my outfit by donning my official '98 World Series Yankee cap.
I must say that I'm the picture of sartorial elegance.
Who says that the "Queer Eyes Guys" are the only ones who know how to dress for the occasion?

To recap the game: Matsui hit a double in the first and Giambi (Mr. Steroids) drove him in with a two run homer. It's still 2-0 in the third.

PS: Boy, do I expect to get flamed over for this post. Any Red Sox fans out there?

Larry, I'd pay good beer money to see you all decked out in Yankee apparel. That's entertainment!

On the other hand, watching 10 million dollar primadonnas, who are collecting $40,000 in EXTRA expenses to pig out on Kobe beef while they engage in a PRACTICE! game or two, is beyond all reason to me. Of course I'm green with envy, but it's sad that our summer pastime is becoming unaffordable to the kids who'll be needed to pass on the legacy of the sport to the next generation.
Baseball - The sport of Japanese Emperors.

Opps. This wasn't a PRACTICE game......it was OPENING DAY!!!!

They've OUTSOURCED opening day!!!!!

Excuse, please while I go do Hari-Kari now.

Thank you, Ron (Bows 'n bleeds).

O/T: That's a good sign, now maybe the snowbirds will go home and traffic can get back to normal. :)

back on-topic, well almost. Didn't see the Yankees or Sox play this year, but did take in games with the Expos, Dodgers, Cardinals, and Tigers during the training season. Even caught a ball hit by a Dodger (that my wife has had rolling around on the floor of her car for about a month for some unknown reason  ).

In case nobody noticed, the Yanks won today over the Devil Rays. The score was 12-1. These 2 teams are tied for first or last place, depending on your point of view. :D :D
