Beautiful Dan. Simply beautiful. That's my fav color on a 944/951/968 and with ~260whp that thing'll be a beast!!!!!

Definitely a quality looking car. My favorite color is my buddies Something Blue one... Its a dark blue and a very rare color to see the 951 in. But I'm ALWAYS a fan of black... too bad they're so hard to keep clean.

Its kind of funny... My friend who is a 951 fanatic, has 3 of them in his garage right now. his, one he bought and is selling this week, and a track car that he is working on (and getting paid to work on) for someone else.

I've now helped disassemble two motors with him. Awesome motors... quite strange design on some things and lots of little quirks.

i was lurking over at the Rennlist 928 forums the other night and saw your post.

wouldn't you rather have one of these:

those 944's with half a motor are nice, too. :p :D

That is a nice 928 engine bay. The 951 with 300 at the crank with a 5 speed should be faster then a heavier 320hp 928 S4 auto. Even if you were lucky enough to find a 5 speed S4 or a GT, I think this 951 would still take it. The S4 is easily the better long distance cruiser.

The 951 is much lighter, has smaller dimensions and is more tossable in the turns. That 300 crank hp 951 seems to be an amazing find. That'd be my first choice as well...

He seems to have taken very nice care of her. The engine bay looks nice. I'd like to add the 993 "Big Red" brakes if I got her. The ORIGINAL red calipers, before the morons around here started painting their Civic's DRUMS red. :(

Chike, I'm trying to convince that car dealer to lend me the 1984 928 S in black to bring to Reading. No where near as fast as a 951 or 928 S4, but still cool in the old school Porsche kind of way.

i guess you didn't notice the supercharger. ;)

that 928 is kickin' out 400+ *rear wheel* horsepower and hasn't even been tuned yet. teh 951 will lose. :p

That one maybe. I think the 500 horse 951 Greg spoke of, vs a 500 horse S/C 928, it stills comes down to weight and handeling. The 928 will always be a GT. I love that car, but it's not a sports car. No matter how much you do to it. I wish I had the time and money to own a 928 and a 951. Differnet tools for different jobs.

yeah - same power and less weight will win every time. the 928 is no slouch in the handling dept., though. the SVX felt like a garbage truck after driving the 928.

i'd love a nice 951 - i'm getting away from heavy GT's and i think i'm starting to prefer lighter, faster, smaller cars. my next car will probably be an STi (assuming future models have better styling and an SMG tranny), or an EVO X+.

I loved the 87 928 S4 I drove. I can't wait to drive a 944 or 951.

my friend had a couple 944's while i was away at college, but i never got a chance to drive them for some reason.

951 + 968 rear spoiler = hot!

Royal Tiger 04-16-2006 11:29 AM

Absolutley. But the wing is $800 and the moulding kit is $1300 on American International Racing's website.
