96 LSi

5 Attachment(s)
Hey Gang.... long time lurker here, and former/temporary PA resident of prime SVX country. Some may remember me as the guy from Kansas at 2010 Reading Meet

Testing the waters to sell my 96 LSi due to temp relocation, more kids and less time. I am finding more and more dust on my ride and feel I am neglecting the vehicle.. Wanted to start in this community before going down other avenues. If anyone is interested fire off questions, suggestions, PMs etc. Or if you think I need to hang onto the vehicle you can slap me in this thread.

Location of the SVX: Lenexa, KS (Kansas City)

Year: 1996

Model: LSi

VIN: JF1CX8659 TH100121

Manufacture date:10/95

Paint Color:Ebony Pearl

Interior Color: Tan

Miles: 113,XXX

Location: Lenexa, KS (Kansas City)

Options: LSi standards - leather, fancy stock cup holder, secret below seat compartment etc.

AWD or FWD: AWD

Modifications: 5K HIDs, 15 & 20 Min Mods, Dropping Resistor, Aux Tranny Cooler, all by OT of SVXFiles

Major service: none that I am aware of, I suspect original owner had 60K service

Engine Condition: very good mechanically & aesthetically

Maintenance Records: lots on file- recently: valve cover gaskets & plugs replaced, serp belt, hood shocks. Over the past few years: water pump, front main seals, timing belt, knock sensors, PS pump, radiator, battery, rear bearings. Lots of this work was by SVXFiles

Transmission condition: very good

Glass condition: very good, replaced windshield tint is different than others

Type of tire and remaining tread: Michelin Pilot Sport A/S (3), Goodyear (1) emergency replacement, approx 15K remaining

Type of wheels: stock, originals

Interior condition: very good, one of the embroidered floor mats is fairly worn, the passenger mat is near perfect

Body condition: very good, one of the clear coat issues on the plastic piece below rear fix window, chip on spoiler T/U'd, and minor spot on front edge of moon roof panel..sealed with acrylic, and other typical wear on lower panels..but nothing significant or disturbing....

Known defects or problems: minor items? could probably use suspension replacement/upgrade as I believe it is all stock original, and recently got the rear squeaks. Some of the back lights on the radio don't work, and the exhaust heat shields rattle some

Comments about the car: 2nd owner, purchased in March 2009 from 80 year old original owner who leased it from local Subaru dealer in 96. vehicle had 80K at purchase when I purchased. Garage kept for 18.5 years of 20 year existence. Car is not perfect, but it's damn good given the age

Asking price: open to offers or reasonable market suggestions,

Pictures: (External links are OK) lots, only know attach method.....PM/email/or direct me to a pic post how to

I'll slap you! Don't sell it. It is way too nice a car to give away at the price you'll get for it. These cars are still selling at a price far lower than they are worth, in the condition yours is in.
Hang on to it, keep it in the garage and drive it on sunny Sunday afternoons.

Beautiful car, GLWS. I'm always tempted by SVXi in nice shape, and yours plainly is one of them.

A bit off topic but what is the red/white car in the reflection in picture #4? I'm torn between '55 Chevy and a Nash of some sort...

If I recall..its a 57-58 rambler classic ....I think it won entire show. Good pick up though.

Definitely keep it, right now they are still going dirt cheap but keeping it in great shape, maybe doing 4.44 auto swap to help transmission longevity and in the future when they become the classic we know them to be they would be worth selling
