100K and counting!

Turned over 100,000 miles last night on the way home - first time I've ever owned a car with that many miles on it.

From the records, she's on the original tranny and wheel bearings, and everything seems to be working fine.

I was on a deserted road, and slowed down to 25 so the speedo needle wouldn't cover the odometer as it rolled over. Got home and drank a beer in celebration (not that I need that many excuses to drink a beer).

Congratulations, Dick. I passed 100k about three years ago in my SVX. It was a proud moment, but I was by no means surprised to see the car last that long. The Justy is my only current car that isn't past 100k - and it'll be there in a few months. :)

Anyway, here's to 100k more! :D

I remember the day about 2 years ago when mine changed. I wasnt aware of how close it was, and actually had lent my car to a friend that afternoon. He had the car when it changed, but was thoughtful enough to find my camera in the console and take a couple pics.

Congrats, Dick. I've got one that's on its way to 140K and another that will hit 200K sooner than I'd like.

As for the beer, I've made it a rule never to drink beer unless I'm by myself or with somebody, and then, only on days ending in the letter "Y." :D:D

Congrats Dick, mine turned 100 last night also, what a coinkydink! I didn't have to slow down for the event though, I was already stuck behind a PBH in a Taurus. Apparently she was scared to drive on the snow. Or maybe she drives like that all the time... ;)

She's still a pup, Dick!

With luck, she'll never be a full-fledged dog. ;)

...only 100K?

Now that I stink about it I'm STILL working on the FIRST 100K on my ' 92, being as I'm at 98K...

With just 128+ on the '91 420SEL, 176+ on the ' 87 F250, 62 on the ' 84 Town Car (which I've only had since August), just 18 on the ' 93 ZX-11 and a paltry 10K on my ' 74 H2 750.

On of my buddies lookled under the hood of the SVX the other day and said "I want to buy all my used cars from you!" I told him if you buy a well-engineered vehicle and keep it in good shape, do a little extra in the way of PM on a regular basis and there is a good chance it should provide great service for a decade or two.

I feel the SVX is in this category but it does not suffer fools for owners very well.

Hey your car is still pretty young. Keep up the good work.

I am waiting for mine to hit 200k
