Woohoo!

I passed my first annual stress test this morning. Apparently they put the little tubes where they belonged. Downside is now I glow in the dark and set off geiger counters... ;)

Beav
Is the treadmill thing...post angiogram/angioplaste type of stress test stuff?
If so, congratulations.
I hate that treadmill..........they always stick all those wires on my bare bod.....then the cute nurses stand there and watch that darned treadmill angle rise, and rise, and rise, and go faster, faster and faster until if it were not for that handle bar at the front, I'd go flying off the end like a cartoon character..........all the while trying to hold my tummy in and not look quite so 'old and fat'..........
I still miss whoppers, but my wife does not approve, my new name should be vetable boy........

The stress of thinking about my last stress test, almost gave me a heart attack. :D

Congrats Beav!

I guess I should have said 'my first annual, post-bypass' stress test. The last I one I did wasn't anywhere near as much fun, the arrhythmia (sp?) afterwards had my heart flopping around like a fish out of water.

I understand the cute nurses thing, that's why I do a lot of pre-test warm-ups down at Hooters... :D :D

Congratulations Carl

Glad to hear things went well on your test!

Beav, just about all the old cronies I knew in high school have had some kind of ticker implants. Seems to be the tonsilectomy of the last decade. I'm glad you're "showing off". Keep on humpin' & pumpin'

Ron.

I know what you mean. Here in Louisville where they pride themselves on heart repairs (transplants, Barney Clark, Jarvik 7, etc.) you kinda wonder if they push the issue a bit. If it wasn't for the way I felt when I got off the treadmill last year I'd probably have a doubt or two. I'm just glad they fixed me up to where they can get another 15-20 years of work outta me. ;) :p

I recommend Lubegard mixed with white Grenache as a daily regimen.

Cheers, Ron.

Not in the Fred Sanford/Hollywood sense of the term. I just noticed some light tingling in my chest on some mornings. Kinda like the tingle you feel when you blush, nothing painful at all. Glad I got it checked out, I had four blockages, 1@100%, 2@90% and 1@75%.

So those of you that smoke, eat cheese, fried food, chips, ice cream, etc. can start thinking about whether or not that stuff means all that much to you - especially the cheese and the smoking. Exercise does wonders too - just a few walks each week lowers my cholesterol dramatically. There's nothing like the feeling of waking up in the hospital, gagging on a corrugated snorkel in your throat, followed by them yanking a couple tubes out of your chest the next day.

Damn! Now I feel like a hypocrite....;) :p

Don't forget to mention genetics as well.

For those of you that saw me and remember how skinny I am, well, I'm borderline high in cholesterol. Kinda shows it can happen to anyone.

Or take the example of the major league pitcher (can't remember name) that passed away earlier on this year. Super healthy, certainly gets his exercise, and his heart's 25% larger than an average person. But yet his passages were blocked to 90%, and his father died in his 40's from a heart disease.

We need to take care of ourselves. We ain't no cats with no nine lives. :)
