Two types of 3.3L?????!!!??????
It may be nothing but I was looking through an NGK plug catalong the other day an they have the specific engine code for each Subaru motor. I then notice that the engine code for the 92 to 96 SVX was EG33 (we all knew that) but it listed the 97 as an EJ33  Is this just some wired typo or what? Or did Subaru change something in the 97 motor for the last year like they did with the tire size and grill?
Anybody with a 97 wanna run out and check the code on thier block? |
<<but it listed the 97 as an EJ33 >>
just a typo |
EJ33.. Hmmmm... I think that's the twin turbo option, isn't it?
(sneaking away quietly hoping no one shoots me ;) |

It looks like it might be an Australian model thing, though there are several references on the web for US as well. Not 97 specific. . .
EJ33 EJ33 engine complete |
I'm convinced it is only a typo, or somebody's mistaken idea of a Subaru engine code.
All the others are EJ20 and EJ22, so they just supersized it for the SVX. If you read further in the details, they list a BE Legacy '01 Twin Turbo as having a Triptronic gearbox. Foot in Mouth. I rest my case. :D |
Know, Why Would You Have Listed Two Diferent Plugs??? Just Have One For 92-97... Plus Coming From Ngk??? Are The Trany's The Same In All The Model, Are The Ecu All The Same??? The Top Speed Are All The Same???
|
No, the 92's are faster. :D
So it's safe to say there are no 3.3L with EJ33 stamped on the block? |
