passenger seat

i asked about this earlier referring to transmission work.... i took my car to a mechanic to check a grinding noise under the car, he checked it out and said it was a transmission problem - he also mentioned my wheel bearings are shot.
so i took the car to another mechanic who has worked on the trans in the past - so his work is under warranty. This guy has had the car for about 7 weeks now, and i've done all the searching for parts myself - because after 5 weeks he still hadnt found anything.
The garage is about 2 hours from my house, so its a real pain to get down to see the car. But when i couldnt get him on the phone anymore, i went down to see the car myself and get some important things out of it. Another mechanic showed me to the car and i noticed the passenger seat was out - the guy working on the car was gone, and is still unavailable by phone... then on my way out i see another svx just like mine, also withouth the passenger seat.
I was just wondering if there is any reason for that seat to be out - related to transmission, wheel bearings, or anything... im nervous that something bad is happening to my car... id take it somewhere else, but this work should be done under his warranty.... and now of course he's not answering any of my calls.

sorry to take up two posts with this, but i really need to know whats going on - i didnt want anyone to not read the post becasue it was titled Trans work --- i need to know if there is ANY work that requires the passenger seat to be removed

After reading this in another thread and re-reading it here I am starting to believe they damaged your seat and took all this time to come up with a replacement.
