Trans seal and shift adjustment

Hi all,

Had my transmission swapped for a better s/h unit. What bliss since that was done. Not without its problems tho'...

Even with the maximum adjustment on the cable, I have to force the shift lever into P to get the keys out and even then it is actually still in R. The inidcator on the dash shows R, the indicator on the selector quadrant shows a bit of P, reverse lights on and reverse bleeper going. I am thinking of cutting another couple of threads onto the adjuster to try to resolve. The transmission is a later one, but the shifter is the original vintage. I checked part nos, but they appear the same from 92-97. Are the cables the same as well?

The drivers (passengers to you!) drive shaft oil seal is also leaking. Gotthe part, but haven't had a look as to how it fits yet - is there a bolt on cover or is it a pry out the old and hammer in the new?

Thanks

Tony
