Just curious on how everyone feels about the running condition of their babys.

Does this mean drivetrain only? I still have rattly brakes but my engine is great at 144k. :)

"So far, so good"

"That wasn't so far"

A line from one of my favorite movies. Any one care to guess the title?

Back on the subject, after ~10k miles I have not had any problems and the SVX runs like a Japanese watch.

suspension

love everything but fear my suspension is due for replacement; done 144klm on mostly very rough country roads, lotsa potholes :(

Great now that I got that bad tank of gas out of it. Careful when filling up at an old, shady gas station in the middle of crapville.

I still get a smile on my face everytime i drive mine :)

Somewhat frustrated

I still haven't got my binding in the steering figured out yet:mad:

Did you replace the power steering o ring yet? I had an air leak and the steering would tighten up a lot around turns. After replacing the o ring i still have an air leak but it doesnt tighten up as much around turns.

The 97, & 94 are terrific.
The 92 needs a little interior work and some tires.

Other than that it's "SVX city."

Yeah the O-ring was the first suspect, then I replaced the rack (under warranty, only had about 4500 miles on it), but that didn’t fix it. Have changed all the low pressure lines, and checked the cooler.
Now I’m looking for a cheap PS Pump to try to see if that fixes it…..got one I can borrow?:D :D :D

Huck, Does it bind when it's hot or cold? I assume you checked the steering column?

It binds all the time, hot, cold, doesn't matter.
While the rack was out I could easily turn the column with my hand from the knuckle where it attaches to the rack, so it’s fine.
I took my PS Pump off and partially disassembled it, the valve were the pressure line goes out, was hard to get out, but when I took a Legacy PS Pump apart, the same piece just fell out, so I’m wondering if this valve could be the problem.
After looking at some of the steering components on SVXparts.com, realize there is a computer for the electronically controlled PS of the Tour & Lsi, so it could be bad also.
I’m just tired of working on it at the moment, so it can sit in the garage for a while till I can mellow out some…I guess that part of having a 10 year old car with 155k that was abused heavily before I got it.
