Sorry, could not resist. Good luck with your search. I don't have a spare at the moment. Hey - free bump!

buy a new one?

i don't think a throttle position sensor is a part that i'd buy used. if you love your SVX, treat it right.

Tom, I would just bite the bullet and buy a new one. This is a wear part. Any second hand one you find will be too close to breaking down to be worth the trouble buying or fitting.

this thread is in the wrong spot and should be moved. That aside the fact remains that you should alway buy a new tps, not a used one(says the guy who got his outta a junk yard)

i have some used oil for sale cheap - you could probably get another 1000 miles out of it.

Thanks for the replies....I guess you guys are right, I should buy a new one. Since subaruparts.com does not allow access to the exploded views anymore, (they want you to e-mail and mabey they will answer someday), I am unable to locate a part number. Does anyone know what the part # is? I figure if I had the #, I could at least shop around the internet for the best price. I'm sure this is a big ticket item.....

Thanks

try 1stsubaruparts.com - the site is trickier to look stuff up, but is almost always cheaper than anywhere else....

Throttle position sensor, svx 92-94 ......... $193.42

about $75 cheaper than Gwinnett Subaru. ;)

I recently paid $169.99 (plus state sales tax for a total of $181.89) on the Autozone Web site. No shipping charge. The part was identical to the one I took off the car, down to the serial number molded into the housing.

The part carries through '97, as well.

Subaruparts.com as asking for $204.70. :(

<AutoZone goodness!> Good call.

I took the used TPS from my parts car and put on my daily and the parts car has an extra 30k onit, but its been working just fine. You may not even have to replace the one you have it prolly needs to be readjusted
