Need Help Fixing Exterior
I was going to post this under car exterior products, but it seems noone uses it so I thought I would place it here. Here's my problem, I buffed my black car out the other day and WOW it swirled! I have never done this once in my life and I have been detailing cars for 2 years, but when it came down to detailing my car it was swirls galore... I used a different type of compound, which a car company said would be better to use (safe for all clear coats etc.), however he was wrong or I just lost my buffing touch. So are there any products out there that can save my car? Also, how many times can u buff a car considering this will be my 3rd time before it ruins the paint?

if you are getting swirl marks surely this means an unwanted abrasive is present. I gather you are using a power buffing machine. Was/is the mop contaminated with an extraneous substance ? Is the compound you are using too course ? |
I would also agree with Trevor...there could also be some dirt or abrasive on the surface of the car too. Have you tried to clay-bar the car? The clay should lift the unwanted elements off of the surface.

I used a foam pad to lessen the likelyhood of swirls on my car, but it didnt seem to work :).
I never did try and use clay on my car; I will give that a try next time the weather clears up. Also, any of you guys know if it is okay to buff a car multiple times? Thanks for the help |
