O/T New Scenery
 

I looked out on Friday morning and found that the view had changed a little

We decided to take a closer look

well i woke up to snow hehe...that is a little different though

Sucks when you lose the brakes on your transporter!

So...uh...how'd that get there? :D

Tides a little high there last night?
 

Gonna take a big tow truck to get that out of the parking lot!:(

Bettr yet, do you get to keep it? ;) After all, they did turn the Queen Mary into a hotel...

...uh, so the cap'n & crew went to the pub on Thursday night to hoist a few and forgot where they parked?

Fortunately for us, it is a new hull which was being towed from Turkey to Rotterdam in Holland to be fitted out. It is therefore fairly inert.

Unfortunately for them, they lost the tow in a force 10 gale and it was blown onto our coast. As there was no-one on board and no pollution risk, the Coastguard refused to launch a helicopter to re-establish the tow.

We have some of the largest tides in the world here, over 10 metres, and it came ashore on one of the highest of the year, increase by the onshore wind and waves. The ship only had 200 tonnes of water as ballast so was floating high. It seems like it could be here for quite some time.

And that house right next to the hull doesn't get flooded in these high tides?

...maybe an enterprising "Guern" could strike a deal with the owners of the hull and turn it into a B&B, until it can be refloated...

If you look really closely, you can see the bumper sticker (stern sticker? rudder sticker?) that says "IF YOU DON'T LIKE MY SAILING, GET OFF THE BEACH". :D :D :D
