newbie ?s
A couple of questions just to prove my abysmal ignorance to anyone who wasn't sure.
1) I know that the Subaru logo is a stylized rendition of the constellation Pleiades, and that Alcyone is the brightest star in Pleiades, but is Alcyone also what the Japanese SVX was called? 2) What is the cool looking 'horns' logo really supposed to be? It looks like a very stylized longhorn steer to me, but i really like it. Thanks for any info. Marc |
hi newbie!
don't know the answers to your questions, but hi :D Kelli |

Magickfingers, Thats just Kelli, just grin and nod polietly and she won't bite, we keep her around cause she's polite and helps keep some sanity in this place :p Oh, and I can't really answer your questions either :D |
Alcyone is the designation for both the SVX and XT6. It's just a special name for cars they thought would change the market. The emblem to me resembles something aerodynamic and very much not beef. The key attribute of the X6s was advanced aerodynamics through unique design.
That's what I think. Could be wrong. |

Alcyone
Alcyone also refers to the daughter of the god of wind in Greek mythology. Maybe it means our cars are fast...like the wind....downhill....in the rain. So I don't see any steer involved at all. Maybe it's a profile of a kingfisher(bird) as these are also mentioned in the myth.

I dont want the SVX to be associated with cows and the like..it would bring the term 'stampede' at a meet when many SVXi are enroute to location |
