Just got a new conditioned 97 SVX brochure.

I have to figure out a way to preserve it.

Plastic

Go to your local comic book store, and get a bag that is made for comics, and put the brochure in it.

and then bury it in the back yard in a lock box

Some of the brochures are oversize. For my pristine duplicates, I just take them to Staples or Kinko's and have them shrink-wrapped. About .50 each.

Have it cryogenically frozen?

AlcyoneDaze 11-17-2006 08:56 AM

Acid-free & Lignin-free wraps are available just about anywhere over the net

freeze it in carbonite, and hope that Darth Vader doesn't take it.

Wont the heating process to remove it, destroy it?

I suspect you'd be much better off putting them into archival-quality sleeves. The chemicals in that shrink-wrap material will surely do more harm than good over the long term.

you're right - i would build a temperature-controlled clean room to store it in instead.

I have since bought archival shrink wrap and taken it to Staples to heat seal the edges. I then use my own heat gun to carefully shrink it, just enough where it is smooth and not too tight.

Shouldnt that link be in the thread about worst company URLS?

About how rare are these? I was just wondering because I have a few of them, gotta wrap them up with my couple "Road and Track Guide to the New SVX"
