svx battery problems

You have been so great when we need assistance with our SVX. We now have another problem.

Does the security system on the SVX or the seatbelt system ever short out and drain the battery? How would you disconnect either of these and do you think this is what is draining our battery?!. We were told that this could be possible by someone, but they do not know SVXs.

The alternator has been tested. It is good. The ground is good. The battery is good.

Is there anything else it could be?

Thanks!
Jray

I suppose it's possible for either of those two systems to fail and draw more power than usual, but I'd say it's not very likely.

The way to find out is to measure the current-draw using a meter that measures amps, and pull individual fuses to identify the circuit branch that's responsible. If you don't have a good multi-meter, I'll bet you know someone who does.

See this thread for more information and tips:
Gotta draw...

You can take out the clock fuse under the hood for a TEMP. fix....It stopped my batt. from going dead....May help you and it may not....NOT a fix...

Hi Jray, A few times the wiring to the sun visor shorts out and can drain the battery. You can remove the visor on both sides and check out the wires to see if they are intact. I hope this helps. Take care, BOBB
