Couldn't you order set from Cometic? That is what we would do in the states.

i probably could but they would presumably still have to be sent from the states and the only cometic dealer ive found using google is in brisbane
which is a 18 hour drive (i think ) from me

on another note i just phoned subaru aust and got a price on the vrs kit and just a head gasket alone

vrs= $1100
hg= $155 each :eek:
and they have none in stock either

could i trouble someone to get me some and have them fast shipped over here ? as i can get 2 from there for the price of one here
it would be greatly appreciated and i can send you the money via paypal with extra for the shipping fees and some beers or something

and now i need another $650 (US prices) worth of parts so they can do their thing :eek::(:rolleyes: dang at least i can get them at probably a quarter of the price from the US , then sourcing them here. i don't think the shock value of finding out how much they want for them here is going to be worth the effort :lol:

I feel your pain. :(

Apparently mine turned over for the first time yesterday, but still needing a few more parts before it's done properly.

And as we all know, "a few more parts" is just a euphemism for spending many more hundreds of dollars. :D

oh ok cool, they will always need a few more parts :rolleyes:
and yes thats true , if you can i advise getting 99% of your parts from the US because they are a LOT cheaper than subaru aust :lol:

For sure! Especially since Subaru Aus are saying "maybe in a few months" due to the earthquake related supply issues.

Doesn't make sense to wait when they're sitting on someone's shelf in the US. :)

Group buy. :)

Maybe we should pool resources here.

The stuff I'm still looking for is:

timing belt tensioner
1 x smooth idler pulley
2 x grooved idler pulleys
engine mounts
steering rack seal kit
tie rod ends

All of this stuff on the car is ok for now, but I know it'll need doing sooner rather than later.
