Lil' red sled is getting some quality time with OT!!

Dropped off the Lil' red wagon this very AM in Wiley's Ford. It needed some maintenance, so I thought it was the perfect time to do a few 'UPGRADES'. Tom has few pieces that no one seems to need, so I told him that he could use them up on the 'Radio Flyer' wagon.

I think it would be fun to go get bread and milk with 'substantialy' more HP and torque.

I bought the car 'wholesale' about 5 years ago. I have installed TIRES, A battery and wiper blades since the repairs that made it a 'wholesale' piece were completed.

I guess I can afford to throw a few Uncle Ben$ at it!

Have any of you guys been hit with the " Your car warrentee is about to EXPIRE"!! ? I have gotten E-mails, letters and phone calls. WARNING me of the impending DOOM! The only problem with the SCAM is that I ALWAYS buy 'Wholesale' so there is NEVER a warrentee!

I DID buy a 'lifetime' top for my 1961 Ford about 25 years ago. (from J.C. Whitney) I found the reciept. It could use a new top, so I might have to pack it up and send it back and see what they say.......

Other than that, I'm 'on my own' as far as cars go....

I wish I could. We are still in 'negotiations' on how long the project can take and how many Benjmins will be needed.

I do have 3 other vehicles, so getting to work will not be a factor.

We just have to see what is Necessary and what is 'desired'.

There has been talk of needing better brakes, though.

Ah, in this case "Bigger" is better ;)

'Dimpled and slotted', fer sure! with Braided, stainless lines. DOT 5 fluid or synthetic.

The only vehicles I 'replace' are my 'beater' trucks. Anything else is an addition to the stable.

This lil red wagon is going to grow old with me. It will have to be KNOCKED out from under me! Even then, It will go to the farm and wait till I need the remaines. I just want to be sure that It has enough power and brakes to get me out of any bad situations that we may encounter. (and to make the best of any 'good' situations that may involve 'tech' inspections...)

I just wish I could use the BLOWER that I have without cutting the hood!

Just got back from OT's. He hauled the heads here so I could take them to the machine shop, ( WHERE they SHOULD have gone when I paid to have this done the FIRST time!)

It seems like my 'friend' didn't tell me about the gouges and warping that caused my $1,000. repair I had done 5 years ago to FAIL!! ( I would have done it myself, but I was busy at my JOB, making the MONEY to pay the bills!)

An idiot wouldn't have made it a month with that 'quality', but, since I've drivin JUNK most of my life, I knew what to do to keep it alive!

OT wouldn't even clean it up until I saw it! I saw it. GERERRRR!!!

Like I really NEED this now!! I feel BETRAYED!!! I TRUSTED the guy and he f$#@!d me!!

Not really a big deal, Just take the engine BACK out, buy ANOTHER $220. gasket set, drive the big nasty firewood truck everywhere I need to go, etc!!

With the 'other' small problem with the eye, the 'turbo' project that it WENT there for will have to WAIT!!! WWWAAAAAA!!!

World's FIRST 15 min mod on an Outback!

OT spent some time on the Lil red today. Since he couldn't put the engine back in, he did the trans repair. He then modified a modified SVX rear trans mount to fit the Outback.

He THEN discovered that the '15 min mod' COULD occure on the Outback!

I sure am glad that he is taking the time to do whatever can be done to make it better!

heads are back.

Cut 10 thousandths, getting ported and polished tomorrow, gasket set 'in hand'. Broken bolts removed, etc...

They will be ready for the return of OT!!

Got lil' red home monday! Has more power, better handling, and the trans works better than it has since I bought the car 5 years ago!! It holds it's fluids and makes heat. ( a MAJOR improooovvvvment.)

Just wish we could have spent the money on MAJOR upgrades, rather than REPAIRING what had already been 'FIXED'.....

GRRRRRR!!!

Took the passengers seat

Since I always drive the lil' red wagon, I decided to allow someone that has never driven it to take the controls. After a 6 mile 'burn', he decided that it runs and handles much better than a 'stock' Outback and I decided that he was NOT going to take my lil' red out without ME being in the passenger seat!

I can't wait till it swallows a TURBO!!!

I took it for a 165 mile road trip today. It did just over 26 mpg and went over the mountains at 71 mph, which was what I set the cruize control at.

I took it back to Tom's house and we changed the oil filter to get rid of all the nasty abrasives that might have been left over after the 'porting', etc.

I LOVE that lil' red car!!

Tom came and grabbed the Lil' Red again. This time it was 'something about a resistor, something, something..', Anyway, It is a LOT more fun to drive now....

After driving Lil' Red to work for the last month, I feel the need to do a little HS action! Since the 'Turbo' thing hasn't happened yet, I can still do HS! I have been 'playing' with it some. It feels like a car that will smoke some Corvettes in tight turns!

When I drive to OT's house, I get a 'panorama' of the airport. My heart seems to skip a little, since I KNOW what happens there on the first weekend of May!

Zoom, Zoom, Zoom, MY BUTT!! Might have to smack down a few Mazdas too! And some Beamers and some Audis and some Porsches and some etc, etc, etc.!!!
