SVX Plant?
 

Anybody know where exactly in Japan the SVX was assembled? Was it on a completely different assembly line? Is the factory still in existence? I would love to one day visit japan and take a tour of what used to be the svx factory!!!

Gunma I believe.

Fuji Heavy Industries (FHI), the manufacturer of Subaru vehicles, has its automobile plants in the Gunma Prefecture, Japan.

The Gunma Manufacturing Division comprises four major automobile production plants: the Main, Yajima, Ōta North and Oizumi Plants

Ōta is a city located 50 miles northwest of Tokyo, in Eastern Gunma, It is #1 in the Prefecture in manufacturing revenue.

It is the home of Subaru and the Ōta North plant was the main assembly plant for the SVX.

And on the same subject, what about K-staff? I wonder if it's possible to see all their SVXes parked up together.

It's listed in Google Earth as "Gumma" :D

Pop this into google earth: 埼玉県川越市脇田町23-1 (for the main building) and 埼玉県川越市問屋町１５－1 (for the factory)

It comes up on google maps, can't get close enough to see if the cars parked out front are SVXs though. :cool:

Yeah Nathan, those are the SVXs... It's very strange location you might get shocked when you see tons of SVX lined up there. Check out my locker!

I remember hearing the SVX line was replaced for Legacy Grand wagon(outback) or Forester after its production...

I read something, I think someone reply here awhile back, that the specialized machines to create the curved glass and press the top portion to the rest of the body (which was patented by Fuji HI) were mothballed then scrapped 8 years ago.:(
