Hello from a new SVX owner in CT

Hello Everyone!

Today I purchased a 96 Black LSi. The SVX has ~136,000 miles on it but seems to be in very good condition otherwise (a few minor things here and there). While I'm not a fan of automatics (and am looking at the possibility of an MTX swap in the future) I've been a fan of the car for several years now but have only recently been able to find one to purchase. I look forward to learning more about this wonderful car and hopefully this forum will help quite a bit.

good luck with the car and welcome to the network!!!

Do yourself a search on manal transmission swaps, youll come up with plenty of information on the subject

Welcome to the site. Good luck on your car, and have fun. :)

Thank you all for the kind welcome. I do truly hope that things do go well for the car. I've been doing some reading up on the car, both recently and over the past few years, though I'm sure I've only begun to scratch the surface. The forum seems to be have a good knowledge base and the members appear more mature than some on other forums I visit.

Thanks! I'm used to digging for info, that's how I figured out how to do most of my own work and where to look/ diagnose problems on my MX-6's. The journey won't officially start since the car won't be ready until Friday or possibly even early next week since I may not have time to pick it up (I work weekends).
One question I do have at the moment is about the availability of interior console trim (for lack of a better term, it's the panels covering the radio and the surrounding area). Mine has a "wood" trim and I'm not too fond of it. I'd like to replace it if possible, if not then I guess it could be painted. I do remember visiting a dealership site once that had a full inventory menu that you could search out OE parts for practically all of the car. If anyone has the link to the site it would be greatly appreciated.

As far as I know Eric is selling his old L model interior panels. All matt grey instead of he faux wood.

Grey is a better option than the wood grain but I'm not sure how it will look with the tan leather interior. I guess I'll have to wait until I get the car in my possession and do some creative thinking. Would the Eric you speak of be the member "It's just Eric"? I'm still new to the forum so I don't really know anyone on here. Thanks for the suggestion though. Maybe I'll be able to make a trade with someone or worst case Ebay could be my friend.
On a side note I did see a forest green SVX today around noon on 91S to 84W. I was in my MX6 at the time but I wonder if it's another member of the forum. I have noticed you guys do report sigthings.
Anyway, I checked on the car earlier today and it passed emisions. Now I'm just waiting on the valve cover gaskets to come in and to have the tranny flushed and brakes redone. Probably going to register it tomorrow and hopefully I'll be driving by the weekend if not early next week :D

TomsSVX 04-19-2006 02:12 PM

yes thats the Eric I am speaking of. Also be careful how they flush the trans, sometimes it can do more bad than good

Tom
