Steering Wheel Shakes After hitting pot holes???

Got the red L FWD coupe of weeks ago with this problem. The steering will shake badly for about 2 sec. after I hit a bump or a pot hole. I jacked the car up and found that the sway bar bushing was missing on one side and other side was not sitting correctly. Can the bushings causing the steering wheel to shake after hitting a pot hole? If not what will?
Thanks

if you're driving the car now, is your steering wheel still shaking?

Steering wheel shaking might be due to a bent rim, caused by the pot hole. Could also have thrown your allignment as well.
