The reason I lost interest in my SVX project
Well.. One of the reasons.
A little over a year ago, I bought a 1990 Nissan Skyline GT-R in Japan through a 3rd party. They stored it for me until it was old enough to enter the country legally, took care of the shipping and all the paperwork for me. I finally was able to pick it up about a month ago. Drove it 9 hours back without a problem. It's in very good condition for the age, just under 52,000 miles. I've wanted one of these since I was 15 years old haha. A thousand things could have gone wrong with this whole transaction, and it certainly didn't go perfectly, but in the end it was definitely worth it. PICS! Beautiful car. I've always liked them also. Under Quebec law no right hand drive car car be licensed here. If you had one already when the law was changed you can keep it on the road though.

Re: The reason I lost interest in my SVX project
Thanks!
I'm still trying to decide what to do with my SVX. No one really seems interested or able to buy it, and I think it would be such a huge waste to scrap it... So I'm considering getting it towed to a shop and just paying whatever it costs for them to get it running in stock-engine-but-5-speed form and look into rally racing or keeping it as a beater. I don't know, just something that doesn't require me to fix the ruined paint haha. |

I'm still interested in the engine! Just need to catch up with Nate and find out when he might be down in the Alabama area!
Congrats on the Skyline! Bill |

Congrats on the Skyline! It's beautiful for sure. :)
Still, I hope you get the SVX back up and running - I think it's neat to have cars that are rare.. a huge pita but then easy is boring. :D |
