Selling the SVX - its been fun

Thats right, i'm selling, i recently purchased a Vehicross (a limited rally performance buggy thingy) from isuzu. On top of that i am again expanding a portion of my business and need to gather some capital. Hate to see it go, but love the Vehicross just a bit more, and find myself not driving the svx anymore. Its been alot of fun, i know i will just kick myself when i see one pass on the road. I do thank you guys for support and help in the past, the network that you've all created is a major asset to the svx world. I wish the Vehicross had such a site, but there are only a small handfull in the U.S. Here's a link to a owner in texas, actually jumping his at a monster truck show.

Hate to see such another cherished SVX leave the family. It's obvious from your time here and your car, mods, etc that you are a true SVX enthusiast. Hopefully your car will go to another good home.

Congrats on the Vehicross though, I've always liked those and their "Mad Max" styling. See three different ones around town here quite regularly. (I live a couple miles from Microsoft's world HQ so there are a lot of expensive and exotic vehicles running around here. Not to mention an abundance of SVXes and Subarus in general.) :D

Good luck with the business!!

thanks troy

you live in redmond? i used to live in 60-01 village off 140th, and, my old svx is still running around that area, silver and black 92 L.
thanks again,
jb

I can somewhat understand. I'd been following the Vehicross since it was in conceptual stages. I recently looked at one and wanted it REAL bad -- a 99 Iron Man edition with a little over 50 K miles for 23K. But, alas, it sold before I got the "stupids" (cuz I definitely couldn't have afforded it) and bought it. I will still be looking for one as time progresses and the prices come down. It will be my "beater" when the SVX hits 200K (I'm at over 166K now).

As everyone (or those who've responded) have said, it's always sad to lose an SVXer, but, a man's gotta do . . . oh, hell, you know. :) Best of luck in your business venture. You're still welcome to visit. Just cuz you've remarried out of the family, don't mean we can't be friends. :D

When I showed the one I was looking at to a friend of mine, he said, "Man, it looks like a giant pissed off tennis shoe!" I almost peed my pants laughing.

Best of luck and I hope the new business works out. I just can imagine what the parts cost for the Vehicross because I don't have one.

Wow small world... chances are I've probably seen your old SVX around then. In fact, there is a silver and black one with no spoiler (meaning possibly a 92 L?) that parks in our company garage. (AT&T Wireless)

The '92 did not come with the spoiler as standard equipment (not even with the "touring package"), so, a "bobtailed" SVX could be an L, LS or an LS-L. Just FYI.

too bad mq but we all understand.

sometimes you do what you gotta do. i always liked the vehicross too. really fast for a mini-suv. 250hp i think. anyway sweet looking truck. there is an orange one around here. too bad you are not closer to me.....might have considered buying your svx for my wife. selling our GTI. anyway best of luck.

gone

well it ships to dallas texas early next week, i'll push the buyer to become active here, let him know what benefits there are.
my silver 92 was had suede seats no sunroof, i would imagine it was an L. Who knows,, they're all basically the same, - awsome machines!
My next subaru will be the wrx sti due for 2003 i believe. that would complete a great combo/small collection of rally bred beasts.

I was under the impression that in '92 and '93 there was no L, just LS and LS-L.

That is correct. Seude seats and no sunroof is an LS in 92

Sorry, I was just going by the VIN decoding instructions from the '92 manual in naming my designations. Of course, they would have no need for the B, G or K designations for the 92 tranny either -- although Huck may want to change his door plaque now.

Let's say your VIN is as follows:
JF1 CX343 X N H 100001

JF1 = Maker Identifier
A “JF1" is a "Passenger Vehicle"

CX3
C = C "Series”
X = Body Type (X=2-Door Coupe)
3 = Engine Type (3=3.3 Liter Engine)

4 = Model
2 = Base Model
3 = L Model
4 = LS Model
5 = LS-L Model

3 = Weight Class, and restraint type
Passenger Car :
1 = Without Passive Restraint
2 = With Passive Restraint
3 = With SRS & Passive Restraint

X = Check Digit (0 through 9 and X varies)

N = Model Year
(N ='92. Since I'm taking this info from the '92 Service Manual, it's the only designation shown).

H = Transmission Type:
B = 5MT (5-Speed Manual)
G = Full Time AWD 5MT (5-Speed Manual w/AWD)
H = Full time AWD 4AT (4-Speed Automatic w/AWD))
K = 4AT (4-Speed Automatic)

100001 = Vehicle Identification
(100001 and after = 2 door coupe).
