Hard start up
Just got this problem not too long ago. Start up is a lot tougher to achieve now. I can turn my key and the car will turn over a few times and fire up like normal, but will not stay running at all. It is as though the car started up and immediately died. No actual time at idle. I can apply the throttle right after she starts and the car will keep running as long as I have my foot on the gas. After a few seconds of holding my foot on the gas to keep the car running, I can ease off the gas and she will idle like a good girl. Any ideas. I plan on changing my spark plugs this weekend if that helps.

check the ecu engine temp sensor. That can keep the car from running. It may have a dead spot in it.

I agree. Sounds like a classic case of bad coolant temp sensor.

Weird, my cars been running funny for the last
few weeks...flat spots, lack of power, bad mpg. then it started stalling while driving Now it starts when it feels like it... Swapped MAF, replaced a few grounds with better HD units, checked alternator output, bought a sensor last week but didnt install it yet. Think Ill install it in the am and see what happens. |
