Side mirror question

My mirror broke. The housing is in good condition I'd hate to have to replace the entire assembly. My question is can I just replace the actual mirror? If so where can I get one???

Try a window/glass shop. I've used them to replace the glass only part of the mirror on some of the trucks at work.

Much cheaper than the new/used assembly.

I'm not sure whether your mirror heater will still work if you do this. I took a mirror apart once (not an SVX mirror) and the heating element was a very thin layer bonded to the back of the glass.

On our legacy, a previous owner has glued an aftermarket mirror glass over the original one (which is presumably broken). The heater in the old one still works, but it takes much longer to clear than the proper one on the other side.
