Whats up with the SVX on Ebay?

Why would you ever put tan cladding on the side of an SVX? Where would you even get such a thing? What people can do to a perfectly good car.

It's the little-known and extremely rare SVX Outback. :D :D :D

At least the wheels are on right.

My thoughts exactly... an SVX Outback. In Purple and Tan no less. Excuse me while I go wretch...

Ugh. I've seen a few pictures where someone (or stock in another country?) painted the lower cladding, but tan and claret, especially with the black roof (3 tone  )..... ugh.

Does anyone know if an Outback version of the SVX was ever proposed? By the mid 90's Subaru basically only had 4 cars right? Imprezza, Legacy, Forester, and SVX... and the first two had Outback versions and the third basically only came as an Outback styled thing. So wondering if for about 10 seconds marketing thought of doing it to the SVX? It would go against what the car was designed for and probably stand out worse than the Baja, but someone could do it pretty easy, maybe for off road rally purpose?

It would basically be a new lower cladding kit, replace the stock stuff with tan or some other color thicker panels with those bumps and ridges. The front and rear bumper covers too. The rear bumper of course would have the center dip down flat at the bottom of the trunk with a rubber mat there. And the front bumper would have the two big foglights on each side with the metal off road guards. Then change the suspension to a more off road friendly one, raise it up a few inches and put higher profile tires on. Maybe for extras throw on a metal brush guard on the front and mount a rack on the roof...... :D :D

Andy Tsao (club ID: Andivic) has grafted an outback bumper, with the big fogs, into the front bumper of his 92 SVX. Pics in his locker at http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/user.php?andivic in the "MY SVX" folder.
