Rocker panel plastic trim
Fellers,
The driver's side grey plastic trim that covers the rocker panel and carpet has broken off. There are 4 or 5 fasteners that look as if have broken. What is the easiest fix for this? Where can I get new fasteners? it looks like the old fasteners sheared off and are still in the plastic inserts in the metal door jamb (at the underside of where the door closes). thanks Tdog |
They are called the "Side sill cover, upper" and can be found Here. New ones are $35.00 but can be fixed by putting in Velcro under them or double backed tape. Many members have done this. This a very common problem. Good luck. :)

Are the clips replacable? This trim piece is not on the door, but on the lower portion of the car below the door. i hope i am describing this accurately.
thanks Tdog |
There are two pieces. There is the sill with the plastic part that goes into the metal part in the door sill, and the metal piece that goes in the door sill. The metal part is replaceable, but the plastic part on the sill is part of the sill. That is why most have just secured the sill with double backed tape or Velcro. Hope that helps. :) If not, ask more.

The metal clip can be reused if you get a new sill. Just pull out the clip and pull the plastic piece that broke off and reinsert the metal piece again. Good luck.

To add to this, I replaced mine and within a week 2 clips were already broken on the new one.
