A/C compressor swap '92 with '93-'97

I just bought a '92 SVX and the A/C compressor is seized. The '92 has a slighly different part# than '93-'97. Can they be interchanged? The '92 is hard to find used.
I checked the search function but couldn't find any info.

Re: A/C compressor swap '92 with '93-'97

The compressors are essentially the same except that 92 used freon and appropriate lube oil and the later ones use 134 and related oil. If you system has already been converted to use R134 there should be tags or signs indicating this. If not this would be a good time to convert it.

Do a search--there have been posts on how to do this.

Excellent, thanks very much. I see from some of the old invoices I got with the car that it has indeed been converted to 134.
