SVX Body Kit

Hi all,
I know its hard to find good looking body kits for the svx. I have started this thread because I wold like to know If people are interested in a body kit for there SVX? I have been doing fiberglass work for much of my adult life as a hobby. Mostly doing fiberglass boats and custom interior. Today I picked up my spare bumper to start some design, and test pieces. Also started doing some drawings. The drawing here is kind of what im leaning towards.
Its exspensive to build molds for parts this big. So what I wanted to know is if people are interested enough for me to go that far. Also if anyone has any ideas to add to my current project?
I will start taking some pics when I make some progress. My main theme here is to make a more GT style kit. Something smooth, and not RICE looking. Also my goal here is to make a kit that will give SVX owners room to use a nice intercooler for turbo and SC apps.

Appreciate any comments or design thoughts.

Sorry, the first design pick is in my locker

Pretty sweet. I did up a drawing as well, it's in my locker somewhere.

A couple members here have done some custom work. SilverSpear did a full custom bodykit, pretty slick too. Stevebsy did a quick production run of a nice looking front clip, but that was before I got here, so someone else would have to fill you in on how that went.

nice designs, do you mind if I use one of your pics to incorperate into my design?

Go for it!

I'd like to see a completion (or aesthetics- and cost-matched version) of this project: <linky>

what price we looking around i found a front bumber made of poly for 350 shipped that is about what i can afford but i do like your look alot better

Nice start. Make sure to take the SVX's suspension travel into account - looks like you might be a little too close to the pavement:eek:

Hehe, the dip at the end of my driveway would probably rip it right off! I think I scuffed the stock bits the other day...

That is just a rough drawing. I haven't gone to art school:D

My plans right now are to make it no lower than the lowest part on the stock bumper. I might drop it an inch or so, depends on what it takes to get it looking the way I want it. But from my measurements we should be close to stock height. I am trying to account for parking lot stops but damn they are tall, do they think people drive monster trucks:confused:

Also going to work on some matching side skirts. I have some ideas for a rear bumper, but that is in the way future. I am going to work on a fiberglass cowl hood that looks like the one in my drawing. it will have a slightly raised center hump, which might make it possible for Mike to use a larger SC pulley.

Cost is undetermined right now for front bumper and side skirts. It would depend how many people are interested, to help offset the cost of making the molds. If 5 or 6 people wanted them, my educated guess would be about $1000 for the whole kit.

A larger pulley at the SC would slow the SC down, lessening the boost.;)

The hump in the hood would allow for a top mounted SC;)

But what I understood about the SC kit, is that the pulley is very close to the hood as it is. Also it would allow for a smaller crank pulley, and allow for boost pressure to be adjusted at the SC.

I took a lot of measurements last night, and shaped some rough test pieces. I think i was going to be a bit too low to get the look I wanted with my first design. Also I was afraid that I would have to mount the innercooler to low to make it line up proper.
So I changed my design a bit. I think this is going to be close to how the final piece will look. I will need to modify the the bumper beam I think, but it will leave room for a large innercooler to fit nicely and still have about 7" or so ground clearance:cool:
