Advice for novice,......
 

I knew nothing about these cars until a week ago, when I saw one on a car lot in my area (Tampa Bay)....... Now I am strongly considering purchasing it and would like to know what words of aqdvice "the experts" would offer regarding what to look for before I spend my money. I know the general things to look for regarding any car purchase, but should I look for anything special related to these beauties......... Any suggestions or comments appreciated

Welcome to the site litljimmy. Check out the threads that Rob gave you and if you still have general questions, get back to us and we will answer as best as we can. I am not sure wheter there are any other members near you, but if there are, sometimes one of them may take a look at it for you and give you some suggestions. Maybe some one here will reply to that suggestion. Good luck and happy SVX shopping. :)

My advice: Drive it!

Look for anything unusual (shifting/braking/noises...)

Also go through the entire car with a fine tooth comb (or tool of choice) looking for anything broken, possibly tampered with or opened.

Ask for as much service history as they can provide.

Lastly, still check out the threads mentioned previously.
