Well, I think its safe to say that you guys are going to hate me (56k-sry pics added)

first off, my name is Lane and I live in knoxville, tn. I just recently purchased a 1992 LSL with 110k....

My plans are to race it competatively

This means of course that I will be stripping it down and the sheetmetal will be damaged during the racing. I have been reading the site and you guys really like these cars, but at the same time I think it will be neat to see how one stacks up against competition on the course.

Dont worry. I bought a second SVX as my daily driver to retire my high milage one and turned it into a racer. This will be my 9th year of competitive NHRA points racing with 2 previous division final run-offs under my belt. Do keep us informed.

thanks for the support guys, but I guess I should've mentioned which race:

www.24hoursoflemons.com

now, if the svx doesnt get crushed, I want to use it in some scca rally events later this year.

Now you can start hating me :o

Chris 04-02-2008 03:34 PM

Still wont hate you. I have run 5 SCCA events in the car with minimal damage. Most of it was dirt/gravel taking paint off. I hope to enter another unltra high speed road course this summer, but it will depend on if we get the roll cage completed and the race is not scheduled for when an NHRA points date is set. Its a bit more difficult since we now run lower gears for NHRA events and the road course is best suited for the OEM 3:54 gears.

Please save the doors if they are solid :o Im sure we have plenty of ones with rust to give you :p

We don't hate you. At least you are racing the car and not doing this to it.

:lol::lol:

Good luck and keep us posted!

I think that design might give the car some downforce over 120+ mph ;)

We won;t hate you (as long as you do well with it )

Knoxville is pretty close to me, if you get up this way you can check out my RWD 5-Speed SVX:cool:

And definitely make it to the Dragon Meet in June.....:)

Hondasucks 04-03-2008 11:35 PM

Yeah, we'd only hate you if you ripped out the engine and tranny for your hippie van and crushed the rest

Not only are there plenty of people racing, including Chris [Network founder], but we like to see the SVX being given some exposure.

Currently we are about to design and implement a Motorsport Forum to highlight all racing by members.

[We are only against illegal street racing, because of the lack of controls and the attendant danger]

Go for it, no way we'll hate you.:eek: :p

Keep us informed so we can fill up the Motorsport Forum with Good News!

Joe ;)

I hadn't seen it.

I'm curious how much you got that one for? It looks to be in pretty decent condition and with the $500 rule, that must have been one cheap SVX.

theallpowerful 04-04-2008 01:26 PM

I paid $450, the steering rack is out of it and the column/ignition cylinder is all busted up. Then there is the lexan windshield and pretty decent hail damage over the rest of the car. mechanically though, it runs well. Of course, there is the $500 dollar rule, but if you sell parts of the car you can apply that money over the $500 cap. Also, safety equipment (roll cage, seat, harness, wheels, tires, and brakes) are not included in the $500 total.
